1. Village/Town at the base of the Mountain
-Some of the buildings are inaccessible, no edifices
2. Airfield Buildings
-Expanding on it like Desert Airport or the Desert Airfield map from MOW:AS would allow for some form of garrison and create an urban style of defense fortifications
3. Roads
-The storage/shelter trench by the airfield makes an exceptional place to store troops/munitions, and the airfield in general can act like a last stand position. With more roads that connect to the airfield this strategy becomes more viable. (There’s already a road on the mountain side of the map, but the bunkers in the cliffs do not have access to the airfield currently)
4. Marshes
-The area behind the mountain, left of the airfield, looks out of place. I’m not sure if it’s because my troops have never fallen back to that area or if it’s because it’s not a viable defensible position, but it feels out of the way of the flow of combat at times.
5. Circular Bunkers (Reichstag turrets)
-Some of them are inaccessible, but they are a good addition to the defensive line.
6. Airfield Fortifications
-(This isn’t about the cave system near the supply trenches) It would be interesting to expand upon the ridge concept, and perhaps make a mountain fortress out of the emplacements that are already there.
7. Coastal Defenses
-(Not about the submarine flak guns) On the left side of the beach there’s a bunker that’s inaccessible, and the ridge that is nearby could be used for future bunkers or emplacements.
8. Audio placement
-There’s an odd airplane crashing audio that is well hidden beneath some rocks near some coastal defenses. Not sure if that was intentional, but seems out of place.
Despite all of these things that could be improved, the map is overall of good quality. I can tell a lot of hard work has been put into the map, and I look forward to future improvements. Best of luck, and I hope my critique helps.
On another note, if you need any future help feel free to ask. I’ve recently taken an interest into the modding/mapping scene behind Men of War, and would appreciate anything that I can toy around with.
Oh, and the landings on Okinawa started out almost without opposition. So to make this Peleliu is... well... very wrong.
