I keep desyncing in multiplayer due to AI opinion modifiers or living characters. Any idea how to fix that?

Whenever I play multiplayer with my friends, it usually takes a maximum of 6 to 7 in-game years before it completely desyncs. The problem is that once it desyncs, the save becomes unusable — everyone keeps desyncing the moment we hit play after rehosting.
