In craft helper UI I can see that adding attachment slots means changing the backpack to a completely different item
Because of that, the new backpack cant be used in crafting that normal backpacks can

I've yet to upgrade and actually see if this is what happens
So I also don't know if there's a way to "downgrade" to get back the actual backpack
