How do you upgrade your ship and fly to shipyard?

How exactly does xp work? I've gotten acouple thousand yet not gotten a single point to spend on skills. If you'd be so kind could you tell me what exactly the threshold is for leveling up Weegee?

You need 500 xp to get a new level and get 1 skill point. You can spend your skill points in ship control panel when your brain is attached. If you still don't have any send me your save file to voidwanderer@outlook.com.

Alright. Thanks Weegee I don't know why my first game didn't seem to ever proc xp I'll try again.
