I lost a limb and can’t use Uberduber Syrettes! What do?
Regeneration chambers should work.

Why does a robot require water?
For balance issues. Without it, AB-I tips over.

Wait, is it AB-I or AB-II?
It used to be both, but the modules update broke AB-I beyond repair. So I merged them, and have been to lazy to fix all references to AB-II.

I want to use injectors and cloning!
See the question about balance below.
Also, if I wanted to make robots compatible with injectors and cloning, I’d have to develop a unique robot base separate from the one in vanilla. This would be a lot of work and may break on updates.
Sorry, you probably won’t be seeing an optional variant that allows for cloning and injectors.

As a robot, why can I eat and cook?
While AB-I has no taste receptors or innate cooking ability, it happily burns biofuel presented to it.
Also this would be difficult to change in the code

I can eat food as a robot to heal myself?
Yep! It burns real good in the combustion chamber. Also one of the few forms of healing available to you. Keep an eye out for snacks I added in the mod too.

I dislike these sprite colors/stat bonuses/starting gear/other things!
I welcome feedback, but don’t wait for me to add something you might want.
Use the wish command for short term solutions. Or tinker with my code for longer term solutions. Remember to backup your changes somewhere so they aren’t erased when I update the mod.

Can I use a segment of your mod for my own?
Of course. I’d appreciate attribution, or reaching out if your project is really derivative, but the ability to grow and remix information is more important than my own ego.

Is this balanced at all?
I like to think it is, but it’s hard to tell. Eliminating cloning and injectors, not being able to easily plan a build and few starting skills are strong penalties. But those immunities and access to cybernetics and level 1 mutations are strong boons. Please let me know what you think. I imagine the balance will play out very differently at different level ranges.

The mod is causing my game to crash!
Browse through your player.log and build_log.txt to find the culprit. If it looks like this mod is causing the problem, paste the offending bits in this thread. The relevant errors are usually at the bottom of the logs. To locate the files, visit https://cavesofqud.gamepedia.com/File_locations
I do NOT know what I am doing, but I will try to help.

Was playing around with whichever one gets 60 unstable genomes, and even though it didn't show any MPs, I could still level up the mutations.

Thanks for letting me know. I just found a fix and will be uploading a new version soon.
Any new characters after this update (v 1.0.1) won't have this issue.

For any curious modders: it looks like MP generation defaults to 1/lvl when not specified

Are the scrap parts you start with special in nay way? I couldn't find an use for them. Also, what does the "make a robot friend" mean?

I didn't have much room to explain things in the character generation genotype picking screen. The answer is on the mod page, though.

Your starting reputation with robots is zero, so most robots won’t be hostile to you. You can also rebuke robots as a True Kin would. You bleed oil, your dismembered body parts can be disassembled for bits and you have a 40% chance to drop scrap on death. Losing is fun!
Scrap parts are meant to be disassembled for bits used in tinkering (or sold). That's true for pretty much the whole game, not just my mod.

Almost all the items I added are little references to the folks who helped me with the mod here and there. Pixel art, name, description, economic value and scrap value are all there is to them. Though there are two books, two healing food items and a +rep pendant too.

It looks like you can't really buy most skills since you're base stats are too low. Even with 26 (modified) strength I can't buy any of the skills needing 19+, such as cleave.

I didn't realize skills were ignoring modified attributes. I'll look into this. I'll need a creative workaround or have to scrap the randomized attributes entirely.

Just put out a new version: 1.0.2.
Attributes are no longer random. More in changelog.

Oh, the make a robot friend is about the rebuke robot ability, I see. I thought it was something different, because both robots have the ability but only one has that in their description. Thanks.

Both should have had it, but the amount of text displayed was being truncated.
Now there's only one variety, and it has the ability to rebuke robots

Thank you!
