I'm having some trouble getting this to work. When I open the Input.ini. I can't see anything in there with ActionMappings or AxisMappings. All I have in there is DebugExecBindings and HistoryBuffer. Any idea on how to fix this?

My input.ini starts with the DebugExecBindings and HistoryBuffer entries, and ActionMappings follow below. Have you scrolled down all the way in the file?

I scrolled all the way to the bottom and there is nothing extra in there.

And you're sure it's the correct version of the file, located in your steam ark directory under ARK\ShooterGame\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor ? I'm honestly not sure why you'd be missing the mapping configs. You could try pasting the code into the file anyway, just add
[/script/engine.inputsettings]
at the top of what's posted on the main page.

Tried that and it basically messed up all the base functions of the other keys. I couldn't sprint, pause, or access any of my storage structures or ride any dinos.

Ok, sorry for the delay, it was quite late for me when we started this discussion. Can you check in the CleanSourceConfigs folder (ARK\ShooterGame\Saved\Config\CleanSourceConfigs) and see if the Input file in there has all the actionmappings? If so, I'd save a backup of your current one (basically move it somewhere safe) then copy the one from CleanSourceConfigs into WindowsNoEditor. Launch the game without any changes to it just to verify that it works with nothing unexpected -- you'll probably have to change some settings if you've ever customized your keys. If all of that goes correctly, then you can add in the custom keybinds from here.

Using either normal or special attack both keep repeating when clicking mouse button once and only stop when not holding the shift button. I think it should be the other way around.
I have no problems with rest of the hotkeys.

My intent was to have to hold both shift and left(/right) click .. unfortunately to fix that I think I'll have to hard code those hotkeys rather than let them be customizable lol.

Oh that's not good. Normally it isn't so bad with most ground dinos but it really sucks when you are using anything that requires constant use of the shift key (for example griffins). Well, at least I can disable both hotkeys and continue using an autoclicker while still having the other ones.

I can experiment with making it the other way. To be clear, you want Shift+click to activate and hold click to continue attacking?
marowc91 27 Jan, 2021 @ 3:36pm
Something like that I guess. Or deactivate auto attack as soon as I stop clicking but still hold shift. Same like you would stop spamming the mouse button while sprint without interruption. Right now you have to release the shift to stop dino from continuously attacking even if you're not clicking.
We can live with that if it's not possible to fix though.

Could also just change the binding to something less intrusive. Ctrl or Alt instead of Shift? Or something else entirely? I'm open to all ideas :)

I think that would be even better. I don't think both of these keys could conflict with other mods if used with just mouse so it's matter of preference if you want to use ctrl or alt.

Hi, I really like this mod but I have a bug when I get stuck on a flying mount if I try to dismount mid flight. I play Single Player, and the issue is that after holding the activate button longer it releases the control of my Dino but the character gets stuck in the saddle in the mounted animation and cannot do anything just rotate around in place but with no camera movement. Dying resets it but the problem persists even if I switch FlyerSeatbelt=false. Tested it with other mods as well as only this one, and the problem stays the same.

Thanks for letting me know, I'll look into that ASAP

Edit: Should be fixed with this update
