FAQ
Q: What is the THRUSTER page symbology?
A: The boxed NORM or HIGH signifies which mode is enabled. Numbers inside and below ship symbol signify thrust being applied by the system. FFD is a wind feed-forward value which signifies response strength of the system which depends on the wind. R value is rotation of the rudder. L value is limiting of main thrust. V or H symbol signifies rotation mode of the ship, V symbolising weather-vaning, H symbolising heading hold and no symbol signifies that the ship is free to turn naturally.

Q: What is the number at the top of the main display?
A: Distance to setpoint in meters.

Q: What are the VANE and HDG options in the main screen?
A: VANE turns the ship into the wind, HDG commands the system to hold current heading.

Q: How to adjust position holding?
A: Press and hold arrow keys to move the setpoint.

Q: The system says DEGRADED, why?
A: One or more sensors is disconnected or receiving invalid data, which can happen when, for instance, a GPS sensor has been accidentally connected to the compass port. Switch to calibrating mode to find out which sensor causes the issue. If system was fine during operation but switches to DEGRADED and doesn't switch back it's likely that one of the sensors got damaged.

Q: The system briefly says DEGRADED during operation but comes back to DP STANDBY, why?
A: This means that the wind sensor is receiving unexpected data. This can happen when the ship is stationary and there is no wind. The system operates normally, do not be alarmed.

CALIBRATING MODE CHECKS:

CHECK: Use arrows
ACTION: Use arrow keys to check whether the steering controls are connected to the system

CHECK: Sensor BIT
ACTION: Watch if all sensors display OK. If any of the sensors displays ERR diagnose if it is connected properly. If the system fails the sensor BIT it will display DEGRADED and will not allow to proceed to the calibration.

CHECK: Arm thrusters
ACTION: Put thruster arm ON to condition the system for calibration

CHECK: Press to calibrate
ACTION: Sail out to be free of obstructions in all directions, click the display and wait for the BIT to complete

CHECK: BIT Complete
ACTION: Remember MAIN and TUNNEL values and use them for thrusters in DP mode. If INVERT TUNNEL appears on screen you need to turn the tunnel thrusters 180 degrees or multiply the tunnel thruster output by -1.
