Upon further testing my hypothesis of the level 1500 cap if false. It is in fact having more than 255 points into one stat that starts messing things up. I have a lvl1570 that has 255 points into one stat. One more point and you can see instantly the points allocated drop to 0. And doing any of the relogging, reloading, or cryo balling resets the stat number to the default tamed stat number.
modders and power gamers break this, but thats on us... not the dev.
Have fun until die!
know i'm late to the party here. but this is 100% correct. the game's core system when it comes to stat leveling only goes to 255 as an >absolute< max. if you go to 256; the game resets the stat and it either goes back to 0 or it goes to a random 150lvl stat. there is a mod called "random configs" that i'm pretty certain allows you to exceed this cap, but at 254 points into basically any stat, you can kill things like giga's without even paying attention. there's really no point in going past 254, honestly. (i say 254 because at 255 the game considers that stat to be "maxed" and locks it so you cant put tamed points into it. so 254 is the highest you can go without the stat being locked)
