What about as a secondary weapon?
I think this would make a great secondary weapon! As someone pointed out in the comments, the Sniper has his Jarate, and the Scout has Mad Milk, so why not a pyro with Molotov Cocktails?

I think the stats should be something like this:

Alt-fire: light rag
Thrown unlit, players are covered in vodka. That means Pyros (and anyone else with fire resistance) take normal fire damage. Other players take mini-crits!

Thrown lit, creates a fire trap. Throw where players will walk into it, and they'll catch fire!

What do people think? Is this a good idea?

Because the pyro is strong enough as it is...there should be a negative atrribute to using this. Ill be satisfied then..

I guess it would be a cool weapon..

Pyro's meant to be more of an offense class but it would be cool if he had a few more defensive options.

That's true. However, there can't be any harm in making it a secondary weapon, and reuploading it to the workshop. You can always hope!

I haven't got any experience modding, but if you let me use the models, I'd be happy to have a go.

What about something like 25% less damage then the Flare Gun? Remember that things like the Jarate of Mad Milk don't have a list of advantages and disadvanteges. There disadvantage is that you don't have another secondary weapon.

You guys are right. My original idea is maybe a bit OP. Mad Milk and Jarate only have one benifit when thrown. What about 20-25% less fire resistence when equipped?

I think rather than having the lit/unlit option it should just catch people on fire. No fire on the ground and no extra crits for using flamethrower on affected players. That evens it out a bit and the negative would be the recharge timer as usual.

The difference is that you can hit the whole team that's pushing the cart at once, you can spycheck effectively, and I bet it would be super easy to add to the game and balance.
