i bet your friend is using controller? when they move left analogue stick it scrolls the minimap but it tries to autocenter and when they move the right stick up and down it tries to zoom in and out but again tries to autocenter so looks weird.

Is there a proper fix for this? And don't say 'Use a keyboard." cause that's not gonna happen.

I'm having the same issue too. It just randomly started happening when the game was updated some versions back now it's pretty much useless with a controller.

Hey Guys, I made some tweaks to the controller layout and it doesn't scroll like that for me anymore. What i did was go into the dayz controller settings go into the joysticks section. Change the right joystick behavior to joystick mouse and set the R3 to keypad 0. On the left joystick behavior change that to directional pad. Then change the Left movement to the same as the keyboard. For example I made Up as the W key, Down is the S key, Left is the A key and Right is the D key. you will need to click each on and go to the keyboard section and add these individually. Next I added the L3 click as the shift key. This is what i did and works really well for me and no scrolling on the minimap at all. I would post a screen show what i mean but there is no option to do so. Let me know if this has helped which i hope it does because like you guys i hate playing solely on the keyboard/mouse.
