Mod Ideas
If you have other historical-based mod ideas, please leave them here! Some examples I had were implementing the Investiture Controversy, the Fourth Crusade, the Angevin Empire, or the Ayyubid Dynasty.

PLEASE NOTE: I am no longer actively modding CK3. I will keep all mods updated, but will not be making any new mods. Apologies!

I have an idea for one historical mods : so basically in the game , in 867 start date the islam covers the middle east and central asia in some parts , but it never really reaches the pontic or eurasian steppe ( since islam got in the steppes around XI century and was spreading there from that time right until the russia started conquering these lands centuries later ,

So the idea is that can you make so that randomly or with a certain chance provinces which are de jure parts of the khazaria empire title and tartaria empire title , are converted to islam?

Here is a link to a good video showing the spread of islam to those regions
( scroll over to the 2:14 part of the video for 867 date )

That's a cool idea! That is a lot easier to do to, it'd be kinda like the culture splits that happen in Iberia and Scandinavia. Thanks for that!

Can you make Alp Arslan stronger? He sometimes can't win the Byzantines and it bothers me a lot. His doomstack should be stronger (like 40-50k) so he will surely beat the Byzantines and take the first step of the Turkish conquest of Asia Minor.

I agree, I'll make that change soon enough today. I was actually just playing with this mod on and had the exact same experience. I'll give him 10k more troops (sorry Byzaboos, but your Empire got wrecked by Alp Arslan).

Update: done! Seljuks are now even stronger.

A fourth crusade event should unironically be next on your list, I would download that in a heartbeat

The only reason why I'm slightly hesitant to do the Fourth Crusade idea is that the game is sooooo unbalanced by 1204. I really hope Paradox addresses this in the next update, if they do I think I will implement it!

For AI Alp Arslan, Malik Shah is not his first son so he is always out of inheritance line of the Seljuk Empire unlike history. Could you fix this one?
grandembassy  [developer] 10 Feb, 2021 @ 4:32am
I did! I set Malik Shah as his designated heir. Huh, I guess I might've broken it, I'll double check things

Update: nope, everything should be in order! Malik Shah should be set as Alp Arslan's heir.

Sorry for late check - he is as you say. Thanks. One more thing I wanna report (prob bug?): After Suleyman becomes sultan of Rum, he always declares war to Alp Arslan and gets easily crushed. Idk if there's an event to make him independent, but I guess he declares war because Alp Arslan has a claim on Rum and he tries to revoke the title from Suleyman. Could you check this and fix it so Suleyman would not be crushed?

This is true, but this is also what kinda happened historically. Suleyman did lose the Sultanate of Rum to the other Seljuk rulers. I suppose I can give the AI some bonus troops and money to make the war take a little longer, at the very least? Maybe give Suleyman at least a chance? I'll take a look.

Maybe you could add the armenian kingdom of Cilicia
Chr32 16 Feb, 2021 @ 6:55am
Suggestion: U could do a Submod for this that triggers a historically accurate crusade.

10 years after a none Christian power conquers anatolia, a crusade will be triggered in wich the crusaders try to take back nicea for the Byzantine empire and (if the crusaders are strong enough) conquer Jerusalem and establish the crusader states of Antioch and Jerusalem.

This is a good mod from you and Id love to see more of the kind of these mods.

@Chr32 That's a great idea! What's so difficult is that ships just manifest from thin air to transport troops to Jerusalem, so there's no reason for a Crusade to be walking through Anatolia, which really destroys the flavor of it. I think I'll come back to this idea whenever Paradox makes Crusades at least a little more historically accurate.

Could you make a mod where seljuks invade in the first start date , so if lets say im playing 867 start date then they would appear in 960s or around that(dont remember exactly)
