____ faction always wins, or ____ can't win!!!
One of the most common comments after players play a couple games for the first time. It's the best when one person says to me something like "Chaos never wins! It's impossible!" then another person will say "Chaos won every game we played!!"

Interesting, right?

So, is the game balanced? YES! There are many player influenced choices that affect the end outcome. It is all down to players' choices throughout the game. The whole point of the game is to figure out which team will win and flip to that side before it's too late and you're stuck. So, of course, if more players choose Chaos, Chaos has an easier time to win and visa versa with The Order. It's all down to the players' choices that fluctuate from game to game!

Another comment is with Secrets. Same thing. "Secrets can never win, it's IMPOSSIBLE!" Again, not really true. Yes, a Secret win should be less common, but the balance of the Secrets is this: If more players take 1 or 2 secret cards, then there will be no more for someone to end the game loyal! If more people display secrets or vote for people that end up discarding secrets then Secrets has an easier time. I've seen Secrets win 2 times in a row in at least 2 or 3 different game sessions. It's all down to players' choices!!!!!

Now the Corrupt. Again, same idea, people say either they win all the time or they never win. The Corrupt is tricky. Just 1 person needs to display a single Bribe at the end and boom the Corrupt loses. But at the same time, what if you're Order and you've drawn a Scroll and a Bribe at the end? Which do you choose? Help the Order win and place the Scroll down, or make the Corrupt lose and place the Bribe down? OR..... do you take the Bribe and hope the Corrupt tie to win as Order, but risk it not being a tie? There's way more choice then you first see when playing for the 1st 2nd or 3rd time.

I'm going to post another thread about some strategies in the game. If you want to discover these strategies for yourself, then skip reading it, but if you're interested in how deep players' choices can get, then give it a read and you might find it interesting! :D
