Report a translation problem
RE: Error #1 - not sure what thats about, as its the first time seeing that kind of error (outside of what someone reported last year where the file names didnt match).
The Core_Items file in SOS has not been changed in years, so that's certainly not a bug that we introduced with any of our 2 "recent" updates.
I suspect a corrupted download to be the culprit for it. You may want to try forcing a redownload on both the client and server.
As for Error #2 - This is now the second time I'm getting this report in the last month, which is a bit concerning, as it has not been reported in the last 2 years up until now.
What I do know is that the original root cause for the issue was solved way back then already; The server translation strings didnt get loaded on game initialisation by default, so we added a function where we load them ourselves.
The issue is - I'm unable to reproduce this issue on both my own server and a server of a friend group.
I'm currently trying to find out what the possible cause could be. Any additional information regarding your server environment would be immensely helpful (along with a proper issue report on our GitHub)
What info would you like re:server? Can grab configs etc. It's a dedicated server hosted by a provider but obviously have FTP access to get whatever files may help for diagnosis.
Yeah - configs, log files, mod list, world file. Just whatever you can reasonably provide that you may think would help with the issue. The more info the merrier - though I obviously don't want to make you guys go through too much effort for this.
Im currently trying various ways to see if i can somehow reproduce the behaviour on my end, whilst also thinking of other potential fixes to the original issue that may also work to remedy it.
I just noticed that the SOS strings themselves ("Broadcast System Integrity" and "Condition Nominal") seem fine. The other strings that are erroring above are not actually from SOS.
Do you perchance have another mod that could interfere (e.g. a radio mod that interacts with the weather strings)
I still suspect a corrupted download to potentially be a culprit though, especially for the file error.
If you can, try a game file verification (you may have to ask your provider for that - i lack experience with PZ server providers sadly)
Maybe we just need to do a refresh of the server from the top and rebuild the modlist if there's something corrupt? The weather reporting is liveable for now? Can (kinda) make out the messages.
Could also be a vanilla bug honestly, but its still really weird. Especially coinciding with that other report of a similar issue, where only SOS's entries were not working (and all the files are verified and good)
Basements, new lore, stuff like that. Maybe, just maybe - provided I can properly learn mapping - new stations for the newer map areas, coinciding with an overall rebalance of AEBS failures (so its not as punishing to get a failure on the other side of the map)
I'll likely upload a "bleeding-edge beta" for B42 SOS at some point during development, so people playtesting B42 can also playtest SOS if they want, without me having to bother Spacew00t constantly to update the main mod on my behalf.
But this beta would absolutely be bleeding-edge, and there will be multiple disclaimers about potentially breaking savegames during updates, especially as the map would receive updates.
