The Modular Tactical Rifle 65 Mark 1, Version 1 is an advanced, Technologically Enhanced assault rifle which was originally designed to replace the current Saber Private Military's Service Rifle; The M419 Mk.2.
Unlike most Standard-issue firearms, the MTR65 uses Electronic Components and a durable, subcompact computer which is designed to succor the Rifle's Operation. This computer is not essential to the Rifle's Operation and can even be easily removed if desired.
However, due to budget constraints and other unforeseen developments, the MTR65 was suddenly and rather precariously derailed from Service Rifle to an Experimental Weapon designed to house and fire chemical based munitions.

The Phaethon chemical compound in particular would become a vital asset to Saber Corp.
Phaethon Energy or what's now known as Xencorvus aurum (Xa) became a necessity to the Corporation as it slowly replaced existing energy sources; However, further experimentation with solid Xa yielded lurid reactions.

A specific synthesis of solid Xencorvus aurum would become highly volatile when compressed and exposed to Oxygen (O). When in this volatile state, any form of violent impacts would cause the solid Xa to suddenly expand and quickly liquefy.
This appalling form of liquid Xa causes massive damage to any surface it touches; Akin to Radiation Damage and Chemical Burns.
Following this discovery, Saber Corp found itself turning its novel energy source into a weapon. The first form of weaponized Xa came in the form of a chemical based munition

Faced against rapid advancements in personal armors, smaller firearms such as SMGs and Handguns struggled to remain effective. However, the necessity for a compact, easy to maneuver weapon remained highly relevant.
The development of PDWs; SMG sized firearms utilizing scaled down rifle cartridges, became popular with most Small Arms manufacturers.
Saber Corporation developed their own PDWs; The latest being the MP58, Mark 1, Version 4. Based off the historical Heckler and Koch MP5 and HK53, the Modular Personal defense weapon 58 was designed to match the dimensions and weight of the MP5 as closely as possible while being able to withstand the force of firing a 5.8x42mm Cartridge.

A peculiar PDW was found almost untouched inside of a secured armory locker belonging to an unidentifiable wreckage. This weapon is labeled as the MP58 Mk.2 Mod.1.
It's been determined that this firearm was created after the collapse of Saber Corporation.

One of the first weapons ever developed by SWR&E, the M419 Mark 2 is a modular assault rifle designed specifically to become the standard issue rifle used by the Corporate's Private Military, as well as the framework for future Military Rifle developments.
After many trials and field tests, the M419 Mk.2 became the Official Service Rifle of Saber Corp and would continue to serve with the Corporation's Military and Security Branches for over four decades before being slowly replaced by the upgraded M419 Mk.4.

Through it's Service life, the M419 Mk.2 would become the framework for a variety of 419 based weapon systems including but not limited to the:
M/BR419 Series (Marksman Rifle / Battle Rifle)
MS/cSR419 Series (Scout / civilian Survival Rifle)
M419 Mk.4 Mod 0 [Prematurely discontinued following collapse of Saber Corp]



The Offensive Arms nomenclature for the long dead Saber Corporation is entirely compiled by the SWR&E (Saber Weapons Research & Engineering) Sub Branch.

Through time, the designations of Offensive based equipment change; Becoming more elaborate as time goes on. Older weapon designations may consist of a single 'M', standing for 'Military' but later equipment will consist of multiple letters, describing the weapon's general purpose or unique function.

One component that has yet to change is the Mark and Mod Designations of Saber Equipment.
Equipment reconstructed using more advanced technology or material are given a higher Mark designation.
Mod (Version) refer to modifications applied to the existing foundation.
