If you subscribe to all on the 10th Anniversary Tribute but not the 10th anniversary: Historical daimyos , when you move him to an army he becomes invisible in the campaign map. Not sure if its for all Clan Daimyos but it happened to me all the time on Date. Need to check if battle it happends.

Is it really impossible to leave vanilla textures for the main menu, and leave a separate modification of these daimyos for tactical battles and the campaign of the game?

I subscribed to all of the 10th anniversary mods and steam says a download of 'workshop content' happened...but there's no change to the game. I have no idea how to actually get these installed.

Theres a mod manager in the total war launcher that you have to use to enable the mods
