Gim (Kirby Super Star Ultra)
i love this character but my friends hate him :(
potential changes to make him more fun/healthier to play against?

biggest changes vvv

-smaller hitbox and more whiff lag on down b to prevent things like this from happening
(https://streamable.com/ymv68g) (https://streamable.com/xuldtb) specifically, reduce the part of the hitbox that hits under the stage, maybe move the hitbox closer to his body.

-his attacks in general just seem to have a lot of kill power. im often killing at 80 or below. seems a bit overtuned for how much range he has. should not completely remove all kill potential, but its frustrating to die so early when you cant even get a hit in.

-maybe swap the range of his fsmash with the longer moves to make normals shorter? this would prevent long range aerial kills from happening so far offstage while ensuring he can only use the long yoyo whip on the ground. fixes things like this (https://streamable.com/v5l6kk) the speed of the moves is ok, the range is just too much IMO

smaller changes vvv

-utilt and dtilt both have hitboxes behind while the yoyo is returning. could these have reduced power/hitpause? i rarely hit with these ending hitboxes but they dont feel good to get hit by when it happens

-remove the cooldown of up and side b, or at least reduce it. having such a long cooldown for these moves makes it very hard to recover after walljumping.

-the first hitbox of dtilt/air is angled up while the rest of them spike. this move is very good for edgeguarding but also feels awful to play against. maybe make the second and third hitboxes also angle up instead of spiking so early?

-dsmash is angled forwards while the yoyo is behind gim. doesnt really change that much, but the move would feel better if the back half angled backwards instead.

-neutral b feels alot better than it did a couple patches ago but is still an awkward move to play against, not sure what could be done here

-maybe for a real jab give him a little slap with the animation used for down b and neutral b, just as a close range option? this makes ftilt slightly less spammy and may give him combo potential.

i really love gim and want him to be fun to fight against. i think his biggest issue right now is that its easier to camp people out than it is to get combos off. if that were changed then maybe he would be more fun to fight :)

Working on the changes that you described. The clips you provided shed new light to what I thought was ok. Expect changes to be released in a day or two, and then see if Gim is any better.
