can you make that the player sided with the rebel, fight against the combine instead ?
like fight against gunship from the ocean, random strider spawn and crap tons of combine soldier, sometime they send their APC and dropship, the rebel has : barney, alyx, antlion on their side, it will make the map feel like D-day but you are the good guys

That sounds like an interesting concept, I have a NPC map coming up that's a redux of this map, it could play somewhat similar to what you're thinking about https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=806684984

Although I'm debating on releasing it, on one hand it seems like it's no longer supported by the creator, but on the other he's still around on Steam, and I haven't worked up the courage to ask them if I'm allowed to release it, let alone decompile it...

Though as for this addon specifically, the "gimmick" of it (I guess) is that you're the "bad guy", resisting your imminent demise. It's possible for me to make a starting room that has a "pick a side" option, but I burned myself out on this map for the moment, so there won't be any updates to it until I feel the urge to come back to it. I do like your idea, though

Please release it, i would love to play it, since not so many "combine survival map" on the workshop function as intended, by the way loved "artic survival" by you
