And did you integrate the females into the egg collector (especially good for single player)?
after that you can try also to pick up the collector (use the multiuse wheel for that) and place it down again
if you have them outside, you have to follow the vanilla egg laying rules
this means you also need a male of the species
tame a female only, than integrate it, or tame a male of the species aswell and let the female out
in ark extis 3 mechanics for unfer eggs:
egg laying:
the main source for unfert eggs, need a male near and only females lay eggs
egg pooping:
in vanilla only 2 species have this (dodo and panguin), also males can poop eggs, slower and unreliably
unstasis egging:
when a female comes into render its a 1% chance to lay an egg OR poop, generelly useless mechanic, only realy used by wild once in a while (the unfert eggs you may find in the wild)
