Perhaps you should re-download? If this is too much of an issue consider playing with "mat_specular 0"
As far as I know they behave as they should.
Nonetheless, I could give that and restarting the application a shot.
In fact, I think the issue may have spontaneously arisen after I started the game– I remember looking over one of the towers, and seeing that its windows were initially fine before they suddenly changed.
I suppose I'll have to look into this further, as it could even be something with my options, too, or a complete other bit of weirdness. I'll let you know if anything changes.
Then again, the colors seem to represent something out of Normal-Map textures, which also have that weird brightness to them. They also change depending on where they are relative to my position.
Darn it, if I had any way to post a screenshot of that here, I would...
But in any case, thanks for the additional information.
The issue still came up in the middle of my play session, but using mat_specular 0 has indeed disabled them! This seems to disable the weird reflections that were rendered by the buildings, and should also apply for other maps, as well.
