Bug: Broken Reflections? [FIXED, See Thread!]
If you just so happened to have stumbled upon this while wandering The Workshop, I bid you good day!
I'm not sure if I am able to provide any console-based reports, since this only happened visually– however, it still seems like enough of an issue to be discussed.

I have noticed that the windows and other reflective parts on the major buildings render reflections in bright purples and greenish-blues. Looking into this, I have heard others mention missing or faulty cubemaps, or something of the like. None of the other textures are affected. I'm wondering how this could be fixed, since this also sometimes happens with other maps I play on, as well, and few, if at all, have mentioned this.

Hello and thanks for making this discussion. Right after compiling the map I've built the cubemap reflections properly. The cubemaps are in the .bsp file and correct. There shouldn't be any problems with them, they do work as they are meant to be. I have no idea why could you and someone else get missing cubemap textures in reflective textures, is not possible because I build them and checked before publishing the addon.

Perhaps you should re-download? If this is too much of an issue consider playing with "mat_specular 0"

As far as I know they behave as they should.

Thanks for your response! I'll look into re-subscribing to the addon.

Nonetheless, I could give that and restarting the application a shot.
In fact, I think the issue may have spontaneously arisen after I started the game– I remember looking over one of the towers, and seeing that its windows were initially fine before they suddenly changed.

I suppose I'll have to look into this further, as it could even be something with my options, too, or a complete other bit of weirdness. I'll let you know if anything changes.

I want to believe the issue is on your side. Also taking in consideration you told me it is happening with other maps aswell. Make sure your graphics options are all okay, game running on DX9 and not lower.

That could be the case, yes. Once I get the chance to, I'll try and tinker with any related settings that I can find. The only problem is, no one has really mentioned this odd reflection-rendering issue specifically. Others have seen the pink-and-black checkerboard, but I have never heard of any mentions of odd colors in their place.

Then again, the colors seem to represent something out of Normal-Map textures, which also have that weird brightness to them. They also change depending on where they are relative to my position.

Darn it, if I had any way to post a screenshot of that here, I would...
But in any case, thanks for the additional information.

An Update! [FIX IS FOUND BELOW.]

The issue still came up in the middle of my play session, but using mat_specular 0 has indeed disabled them! This seems to disable the weird reflections that were rendered by the buildings, and should also apply for other maps, as well.
