Bug reporting
Please let me know if you encounter any bugs in the mod, and any compatibility issues you encounter with other mods, by replying to this discussion with your issue.

So far the only known issue is an exploit that means you can place a tiny deed and a regular deed in the same dwelling and get two tenants. I need to look up how to get the game to treat both deeds equally in that regard as the intention is not to change/subvert the games own limitations on the use of deeds, only provide an alternative, smaller deed.

Howdy-do

Installed this mod after realizing just how flipping massive Colony Deeds are. For some reason, however, I find myself unable to interact with the tiny deed. Normal deeds work just fine, the tiny deed registers the room as valid, yet I cannot for the life of me actually interact with it for some reason. This has persisted through multiple world reloads and game relaunches.

Anything I need to post to help you get to the bottom of this dilemma?

Hi Sachiho,

That's not something I've encountered (I've had tenants stand right in front of them and basically block me from interacting with them, but not straight-up interaction issues).

What mods are you running? I don't think anything should cause interactivity issues, but it's something can look into. Could you post a screenshot of an example structure/build where you've had this issue so I can try to re-create the problem if needed?

Full disclosure, I'm currently finishing corrections on a PhD thesis so might not be able to start looking at this until late next week at the earliest.

Hello again, Osprey! Terribly sorry about the late response, I was buckling down academic work and I must have dismissed the notification without investigating. How irresponsible of me!

As you can see, the colony deed registers both rooms as valid, yet even without other interactables nearby cannot be used.

Thanks again for addressing this issue, even with more important tasks at hand!

And just to check, a regular colony deed in the same space is functioning normally?

(Totally fine on delay, I absolutely understand the pressures of academic work)

That is correct, a normal-sized colony deed will work perfectly fine.

In either instance has a tenant spawned? Are both deeds flashing on/off with a blue light?

If the latter is the case, this would indicate they are for whatever reason not finding tenants. That might be a compatibility issue with another mod on the list you gave so I'll check through and see if anything there might cause issues. If the former then I am puzzled because the blue steady light indicates the beacon mode (summon tenant) is active, which would only happen after interaction, which as you said is not available.

The latter would be the case, both deeds are flashing blue. I'd try pulling the race mods myself, but as my save's character is a modded race, I'm unsure if even pulling up the saves screen would be safe.

I'll investigate. The tiny deed is basically a re-skin of the colony deed, but as it was an earlier mod of mine I might not have made it as easily compatible with other mods as later ones. I'll investigate where the issue lies and get back to you. Thanks for the added info.

Hi Sachiho, apologies for the long time to reply, I've not had nearly enough time to get on to Starbound of late. I was unable to replicate your bug myself or identify what might be the cause of the bug. I've had no indications of this bug elsewhere but if I get any other similar reports I'll look into it again at some point.

Hi (no rush getting to this of course), I've been having a bug where using the regular colony deed gets a tenant spawned in immediately but the tiny one is stuck in the searching stage. I'm not sure why?

Here are the mods I have. I'll get a screenshot soon. Basically same problem as the person above, A regular colonly deed spawns in a tenant but the tiny one doesn't spawn anything. Thanks for looking into it whenever you can! :)

I've looked through the files for a number of theses and nothing seems to patch or change the way the colony deed code works, though I haven't unpacked every mod's files, just the ones I suspect might have a connection to the way colonies work.

Do you have anything else you've not listed? Do any of these mods add new races that I haven't realised from the descriptions?
