My only issue with form->form is that I didn't understand what the arrow meant. I thought it was fun to have the added difficulty of holding onto two different genes at the same time to set up an attack. I just finished a run with no attack cards, relying on Toxin and Drown to do most of the offense. But once it's set up right, having multiple toxin cards can be abused quite a bit. (It's cool that there's finally a poison strat that works :) ) Maybe consuming one of the genes or have them summon a new one to break the set-up would keep it from being so easy to abuse.

Nice! Merfolk and Poison do work well together.

In the last update I added a tooltip for Form -> Form. If this tooltip was there when you started playing yould it have made the effect clear?

Here's the idea I had to rework Toxin:
base: Apply 4 Poison. Plant Form: Adapt with your oldest Lizard gene.
upgrade: Apply 4 Poison. Adapt with a Lizard gene. Plant Form: Channel a Lizard gene.

It would be like Phoenix but for Plant/Lizard. It's not an exciting payoff like the current one and it doesn't work as well against Bosses.

My idea for reworking the Form -> Form mechanic is to change it to Form + Form. If you don't have either of the listed forms, you obtain a random listed one (Or both since Dual Form cards exist and do that). If you don't have one of the listed forms, you can obtain the other. And once you have both, then the card can activate its effect.

Maybe something like:

Toxin (1 Cost Skill)
Base: Apply 4 Poison. Plant + Lizard Form: Adapt your oldest Lizard gene.
Upgraded: Apply 4 Poison. Plant + Lizard Form: This card applies 2 more Poison this combat.

Pheromones (0 Cost Skill)
Base: Plant + Succubus Form: Apply 1 Vulnerable to ALL enemies and Adapt your oldest Succubus gene.
Upgraded: Plant + Succubus Form: Apply 2 Vulnerable and 2 Lust to ALL enemies and Adapt your oldest Succubus gene.

I like the idea of giving both genes with Toxin but not the Poison scaling. I'm not a fan of applying increasingly more Poison even if I suggested it first.

I don't like your idea for Pheromones. I really don't want to give 2 genes with a 0-cost card.

I think it would have helped, but honestly there are a lot of new things to learn, and it's a lot to take in all at once. I don't know if I would have noticed my first playthrough, but the point is that you figure it out eventually.

Oof. That's a big nerf for toxin. It's more in line with the strength of poison cards from the base game though.
