Hearts of Iron IV

Star Wars: Palpatine's Gamble
I Played a full campaign of your mod and i noticed some things.
First of, so happy this mod is being made. I love total overhaul mods like this for hoi4. And like the title said i played a full campaign as the galactic republic and i had alot of fun. but there were some things that i noticed that i think need to be addressed in future updates. First of all i wanted to play the CIS before the republic so i loaded up a game playing as dooku, and there were a few issues, mostly balancing ones. I noticed this again as the republic but i saw why it was happening when i played CIS. and that is, it is almost impossible to raise a large army as dooku. This is because his basic infantry template require b1 battle droids, which you have to buy and cant make. This is a problem because currently you cant buy enough b1 battle droids to field a large army. i got wiped early because of this and i noticed that late game as playing the republic, the CIS only ever made like 40 divisions, while the techno union which i assume can produce b1 battle droids had over 200 divisions. as dooku your allowed to make OOM battle droids but those dont go into any infantry templates that i saw so thats a bit useless. Also i noticed that the main battle droid template ONLY required b1's. no infantry equipment. So it seems like thats an issue. Other than that the CIS seems weak on the whole. as the galatic republic the techno union was my biggest concern, the managed to kill 4 whole armies during one of my failed invasions of their home planet which was my biggest loss of the war. Speaking of the galactic republic, i noticed something that was pretty annoying mid game which was that i couldnt add artillery support to my infantry templates. I had been making artillery for years and when i finally wanted to update my divisions i literally couldnt add them. I also noticed that having a large clone army was just not feasible in the game. You have to buy the clones and the majority of their armored equipment from kamino which is fine and lore friendly however, kamino was not producing enough clones for me to have a large clone army, and they DEFINITELY dont have enough tanks for sale to produce more of the clone armored template. At the end of the game i had over 700 divisions thanks to my 10M manpower that never went under 10m altho almost ALL of them were the basic galactic infantry template or the motorized template. i only ever had like 37 clone infantry and 20 or so clone armored templates, and i got all of those from the battle of geonosis. Another thing was the AI. especially my allied AI. during the war i basically did all the heavy lifting. like i said i had over 700 divisions and we were kicking ass all over the galaxy. but, my allies had upwards of 600 divisions just by themselves. the problem was that they either kept their armies for defense or sent all of their troops to ONE planet. during my game i noticed that the majority of my allies troops had all landed on one planet and was losing manpower in the hundreds of thousands to attrition, and they were only facing like 40 enemy divisions or so. they could have easily of crushed the enemy but the stalemate that lasted for most of the game was ended by me when i invaded the enemies lines from the rear, cut off their access to the starport keeping them alive and crushed them in encirclements. Also the ai seems kind of bad about getting naval supremecy in order to naval invade since they would always wait for me to set up naval supremecy, then invade the target i was planning on invading. kind of annoying having planets stolen from under me by the AI. Those are all the things i can really think about rn that need to be looked at. Other than those things the mod was awesome. I loved that you could buy special clone armies like the 501st. Super cool. The models were pretty cool as well, and the artwork was beautiful. Really looking forward to seeing more from this mod.

There is a focus that allows you to build B1 battle droids

im almost 100% positive i did every focus for the CIS, so either i did the focus but i didnt get the ability to build them or i didnt do that focus? tho im pretty damn sure i did the whole tree. i just remember not being able to build them.

there's a part of the focus tree i believe in the right bottom corner that says "Learn from the Techno Union" which allows you to start producing them yourself before the Battle of Geonosis, so I'd recommend rushing that focus and then stalling for a bit to prepare a good enough army to take them out, since a player should always be able to outproduce good divisions against an AI.

Third focus in the pre war CIS focus tree that involves the Techno Union and it is called "Learn Their Techniques"

Doesn't work, only unlocks OOMs.

I raise up the issue because I confirm that even after completing learning the techno union techniques in the focus three, I am only able to produce OOM-units and not B1.

Update: I was able to produce B1 after I bough a bach of it on the market. I suppose the national focus is mandatory for this.
I too played CIS and found similar results. Even with production of B1s the republic has 100 to 1 your numbers, which as we all know is not lore friendly. My biggest issue was a stable economy. Its a death trap once your debt per month out weighs your income. Civs, trade and taxes are way too small to counter the debt your getting into and feels kinda arbitrary.
As soon as my debt was quadruple my income I knew there was no getting out of it and completely tanked it thereafter, reaching a milestone of 15 BILLION and 100 MILLION PER MONTH, in interest. Not to mention the punishment that is looming bankruptcy which does nothing but worsen the chances of paying off the debt since civs aren't linked to the 50% consumer goods tag given by being in debt.

Republic Ai never goes into tier 3 and 4.

Palpatine missions and Separatist missions are far too unbalanced.

Ground combat heavily favours the side with more armour, which I didn't have nearly enough cash to rival the free tanks the republic gets.

Some national focuses are unfinished or broken.

Good things though: I was having some insane navy battles to the point it felt wrong: example losing 13 vulture droids while the enemy lose 4 venators.....

Can't wait to see where this goes, it has a lot of work but is promising at least.
i thought that the sith were weak because of some major end game focus(some kind of order 66) that would give then the upper hand, but ive been fablergasted to find that theres none and i proptely lost the game.
