If Cadaver had a tainted form,that would be very interesting. I wonder what you guys would think Tainted Cadaver would be like.

I posted my idea in a diffrent discousion here so I'll just copy it.

Design wise he would be even more decomposed to the point that even his other eye no longer works. Becouse of this he can no longer fire tears but he has another way to attack, first is that every now and then he produces blue flies (up to 5) and the second is a poison aura that surrounds him (alternativly instead of an aura it could be a poisonous breath that's kinda like Soy Milk on Azazel's Brimstone). The poison damage given to the enemies by the aura is influanced by his attack stat, the size of the aura depends on your range and fire rate determins how quickly the poison deals damage (If it's a breath instead then it would be mostly normal).

The original design for Cadaver was actually a character that fired blue flies instead of tears. That design didn't feel great to play though. You couldn't break fires, poops, or TNT. That could be partially mitigated with some alternative attack, like the ones you mentioned, but I ended up scrapping it for the current version of Cadaver.

I have some new plans for Tainted Cadaver now though. The overall goal is for friendly units to be at the core of his playstyle while still retaining the ability to shoot some sort of tears. Your ideas aren't far off things that I've considered myself or things that I'm playing around with right now.

Whatever design I settle on, Tainted Cadaver seems like he's going to be significantly more complex, development-wise, so he might not be here for a while.

I agree, making him depend on shooting flies might be a not very fun idea, this character is one of the best out there, it has everything a modded characters should have and even fit the lore, I have good expectations for Tainted Cadaver and please make him as fun and interesting to play as the original but of course with that "tainted" touch :D

My idea for a tainted cadaver is that his tears are replaced with maggots, which will do 77% of your damage mid air, and 50% otherwise. the maggots would act like normal tears until they hit a wall or floor, in that case would start crawling around, searching for enemy's in there line of sight. they would not be able to cross gaps, BUT when an enemy is to far, his active item would let him do a upgraded monstro's lung like barf, a mix of tears, maggots, and rarely rotten teeth. it is a one charge that regenerates in roughly 8-12 seconds. he can only get soul, black and rotten hearts, which act like soul hearts for him, along with there usual use. he does not have the fixed fire rate, but he instead is held back by his near inability to modify his tears to the same degree. he can with some ability's, such as monstro's lung, which will make him naturally shoot the barf as his shot (with a base charge rate of 2.5 seconds), and Polyphemus, which lets you shoot mega maggots and isaacs isaacs, which make the maggots shoot like a spitty. most tear modifiers (brim, trisagion, ect.) will give stat ups based on rarity. two more details, multi shot will always fire forward, but instead has all the maggots curled up into a ball, and birthright would make all of his maggots act like chargers, so that they rush at their targets instead of slowly following (Polyphemus+birthright=lvl2 chargers, isaacs isaacs+birthright=tainted spittys). this was just me brainstorming, so i have no idea how hard this would be to make, but its a dream idea. :P

I kinda feel that the idea of using creatures like maggots as the main damage source overlaps a bit with the design of hostile Sloth and Pestilence......
What about drawing some idea from Melt (from Nuclear Throne)? Not the corpse exploding part as it has been implemented as Vade Retro

Yeah,It think Tainted Cadaver would look Melted(Like Melt from Nuclear Throne),& uses a melee weapon like the Forgotten uses.

i think this would be pretty cool, after death nails and hair appear to grow because of dehydration, maybe for tainted cadaver they could be in livor mortis and have a fixed speed with speed ups giving them a boost of range that grows their nails?? for a ranged attack maybe the nail swipes could excrete red creep, since during this stage blood in the body begins to establish itself in lower areas. just a thought, i think all the ideas people have submitted so far are wonderful!

I have just released Tainted Cadaver along with 4 new unlocks! Tainted Cadaver has a fast, fixed fire rate and very low damage. However, he has a very strong pocket active and permanent friendly maggots, leeches, chargers, and more! The more soul hearts you collect, the larger your army!

Tainted Cadaver is very strong in normal rooms, and is considerably easier to play than the normal Cadaver, but there's still difficulty in his limited max health (4 bone hearts).

No, i literally meant the item isaacs isaacs, a mod item, witch i for some reason believed was i base isaac item
