Warpaint: The Isolated Incident
A very helpful feedback thread that you should totally read
(I'm blocked, so Servo probably won't read this)

Here's some constructive criticism that may also help out ANYONE ELSE who can see this message in their warpaint endeavors.

Creating wears on an item before wears are actually applied is okay in some cases. Small paint chips and wears may fit in with some more industrial warpaints. However, once the wear starts to cover the entire texture, then it ruins the point of wears in the first place. In addition to this, it appears as if the same base colors are still prevalent throughout the entire texture. There is little variety in different hues of grays, especially in an industrial warpaint. Blue grays and rust grays would look good, for instance. It would also benefit from different metal materials, such as plates and sheets.

Additionally, the theme hits a bit too close to home with Covid. It's a little... tone deaf, especially with the blatant "QUARANTINE" texture on it.

@Uboa This warpaint is based off the Rainbow Six siege Outbreak event weapon skin as inspiration using the same theme/colors/ and similarities, of course not straight copying the weapon.

And I agree, "Pandemic" is kinda boring and generic name, so I changed it to "The Isolated Incident". Also I disagree that it is tone-dead because Particulate Protector exist and was accepted into the game 6 month ago, if that was accepted in the game, that mean anything is accepted relating to such thing. I don't see Capcom stoping their development of Resident Evil games do to a pandemic nor do I see Corona Beer re-branding the name of their alcohol. It only close to home if you allow it to be close to home and clearly Valve see that. From within the boundaries of Valve Software, anything that would be consider nationwide, or political of any kind does not exist to them. and they have shown that they do not give two bats of what is happening in the world.

for changes if I had anything I should change to tone the the grey, I would make the secondary just pandemic wrapping and rid the grey background all together. This would allow to see Quarantine and some some other words like "biohazard ", or "Warning! Virus". I would make the third layer a darker gray, a more black and rusted gray as you mentioned. Lastly, the goal for the wares to still retain it's quality looks even as it goes down from factory new to battle scared, regardless if it brand new or battle scared, it still appealing to have, this was also a after-thought, but seeing it pointed out to me, I kinda like how you can't tell the different, making me like it regardless of it's quality.

Thank you for your feedback.

"Particulate Protector exist and was accepted into the game 6 month ago"

Difference is that the mask is accurate to what was happening with covid, I cant recall any beaten down sealed off buildings because of it.
