Maybe make the soul heart drop rate on soul/purple fires configurable, and/or the item quality bc 25% chance seems a lil high. Other than that very good mod.

Hmm I'm not sure, I was basing it on blue/purple flames being somewhat rare uncommon, the fact that they need a bomb to put out, and the fact that you only get between 2-4 familiars per fire which doesn't guarantee a soul heart drop (3/4 chance to get at least one half per fire, 3/16 to get 2 halves)

I may playtest a bit more and see if it's too OP

I was thinking at least in hard mode decrease the chance respectively to 15% and 25% blue flame to purple flame. I thought this because since the flames already have a 10% chance to drop a soul heart whilst being extinguished, the 2-4 flames also having a 25% chance on enemy kill to drop a half soul would make it a little too strong. Or if the item is quality 3 or higher I think that'd be a good alternative while keeping its stats.

Maybe make it so that BFF increases those drop percentages to 25% and 35% respectively on top of the already added damage OR an increase in their hitpoints? I may just be a masochist and your percentages are reasonable lol.

I've changed it so normal rate drop is lower (20%) and BBFS! drop rate is higher (33%), thanks for the idea

How about a synegy with the 3 candle items, Bird's Eye and Ghost Pepper ?

Bird's Eye/Red Candle - A small chance to spawn a weak fire, either the normal one or maybe a unique one that's weaker

Ghost Pepper/Blue Candle - Same as above but the fires would be weak blue fires (maybe even exactly the same as above but just blue), they also can't spawn any hearts

Black Candle - Every time you enter a new room you spawn 1-3 black fires that deal more damage then normal ones but have less health

The mod has been crashing on launch in Afterbirth+. I don't know yet if it's just an incompatibility or the mod alone, but it definetly happens when i install it.

Hi, not sure why this is the case, but I started an Eden run and even without the Friendly Fire item fires consistently spawned them. Tried turning on the console and removing the item (even though it wasnt there) to no effect, tried giving it then removing it, no effect was still active.

That's really odd, which items did Eden have? And the fires spawned constantly even without a fireplace?

Were there any errors in the console at all?

I started as T Maggy with no items and for some reason spawn the friendly fires without the item? Like above, tried giving and removing but to no avail. No errors in the console.

I've updated the mod, hopefully it should work now - please let me know if it doesn't!

I am having the same issue, playing as tainted lost. No friendly fire item, but they still spawn

Gah, I hoped that was fixed. Is it definitely on the latest version? The metadata file for this mod should be at 1.12

The mod is triggering even when i don't have the Friendly Fire.
