Comment Limit. I had this idea for Smelt Mod, cause I notice all Smelt Mods are dependent on What the Author Adds
Anyways seeing as your here, its either I do this or someone else. Is it possible to make a Smelt/Tan Mod while basing recipes (You haven't added) off of things that have recipes like I install a Standalone Mod that didn't bother to think about adding a Smelt recipe, but Craft Recipe. So the smelt Recipe would be the reverse of the Craft, but with penalties (2 Ingot to Craft = 1 Ingot from Smelt) and an ultimuim (Leather or Ingots) as this would allow any Standalone Mod to be smelted.
As well if it were possible to work with MCM to make a Smelt Mod that can compile Smelt/Craft/Tan Recipe by putting into a Special Container (Like the Dimensional Bag Mod which uses a Spell to Access the Container) and adding it to the Container then using MCM to choose the Recipes (Craft = Smith/Tan, Smelt = Ingot/Leather, etc) and then from there Craft Menu (Cause SkyUI sucks), Multiple-Choose (So you can view Item Detail before you Smelt/Tan and Smelt/Craft all at Once, Multiple Times) and from there add higher Material Reward if the Item is Enchanted

I have more to say, as I've thought of doing this my self.
Things like Price (Higher Price = More Material Reward per Ingot Cost or 20 gold) also factors how much Ingots you get, and say set a Max you can get (Can't get more than what it takes to make), but if Its Enchanted or Upgraded (+1 Ore per Level or Another Material used like Steel if Dwarven was used) then the Reward is higher (Unless you make Upgrade locked to Step by Step meaning Good > Better > Best).
As well getting back Ores if say you come up close (2 Daggers = 1 Ingot, 1 Dagger = Ore, only pops up if you cant get ingots instead of popping up when you can and this makes sense for anything higher than Iron cause an Ore is half of an Ingot instead of making 1/2 and 1/4 ingots).

Cause I would like to work with TeraArmors and Weaponizer who has variants of Weapons like Short, Bast'rd, Hex, but they have small difference instead of Pros & Cons (Short Sword = +Attack Speed, Bast'rd = +Attack Range, Hex = x1.5 Attack Power), but I can't smelt either of Mod's Items...wasted Glass on Dual Axe...thought I could Dual...it meant Double AxeHead
