'Animation'/'LASER EYE OF DEATH' BUG [IF YOU GET THIS BUG PLEASE HELP DEBUG IT]
Thanks to the legend ruskipotato we have discovered that the bug where the iron-sides stand still and do 300+ damage is not caused by an issue with this mod at all. It is a conflict with a mod/mods that does 'something' to my code but i dont know which one is the culprit.

So if you encounter this issue id be in your debt if you can help me troubleshoot and find out which mod is causing the clash.

What i currently know:
1. This issue is not caused by this mod directly. If you launch only the old ironsides mod without any others the glitch does not ever happen.
2. It happens to players using very long 100+ load orders.
3. It does not happen when using mod alongside genesis.
4. Ive made a last ditch patch that shifts all my code over onto the cagebeast slot which does not seem to show the bug. WARNING may or may not break any cagebeast mods. https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2581367788

Got the bug today after getting Kenji. Here's my (quite long) list of active mods. I'll do some testing today and see what might be causing troubles.

I've got some mods that change the aoe/range of animals (mainly so beak things aren't such a pain in the ass to fight) that might be causing issues. I'll try those first.

EDIT: Removing some mods that effected animal aoe/aoe in general seems to have fixed it, along with cutting out some miscellanous mods cut to reduce bloat. Going to see what one specifically incurs problems.

Thanks alot for the help bro. Like i know something is causing the conflict but i have no idea what so it makes it very difficult to track down and fix.

Aight it appears that the 'Balanced Spider' mod is what gives them laser eyes of death.

EDIT: Yeap it's definitely giving the ironside from the old ironside start laser eyes.

I am pretty sure that the mod “Remove blood spiders ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥” also has something to do with it, AKA, that unmanned rusted Titan from titanfall just used his blade as a crossbow and one shot my dude. I mean it does sound like a cool idea/decision. But if my assumption is correct, I think that mods affecting the overall animals and range are the reason of bulky iron gentlemen to slowly point there closed sword at you and after they said “GUN” in there deep mechanical voice - watch you fall dead with your left arm torn off and chest destroyed. Oh also, they aggro on the mechanical behemoth arms from “Throes of Obedience” But as author said himself, he will path any relations himself, so I guess some minor help needed in it ? But anyway, that’s all I have

I dont know what causes this issue or how it happens. There is just a weird interaction somewhere inside kenshi when you have enough mods.

Sad that this is a bug, I found it at an interesting point in the game when the entire squad could die and the robot laser saved me, it would be cool to add one of these to the mod as a passchalk after the mod is fixed

It is supposed to have a charge animation used to close distances quickly. But due to a mod conflict it fails to load the animation so it just instantly deals 8x the damage without charging at all. Im still looking for what might be causing it but i might need to disable the charge animation completely in the meantime.

So, I think it happens when the robot cannot reach the target directly, because of lack of range/obstacle, so the walking death fridge uses the “Smite”

nope. we tested it and it is not the case.
The only conclusion i can reach is that this is an engine bug. if you run the mod alone it runs fine. No issue. if you run the mod with a compilation like Genesis or UWE it runs fine, no issue.
But the MOMENT you run it in your 100+ mod loadorder it breaks horribly.
Noone has reported it breaking on vanilla or on total conversions so the possible number of causes are just too high for me to be able to bugtest it..

Im going to release a 'last ditch' patch that is going to retrofit the cage beast slot which should fix the issue. Only drawback is that this will ABSOLUTELY cause mod conflicts with any form of cage beast

to date only 21 people out of 4400 people who have used it have reported the issue so this is not a wide spread issue at all so i cant get my damn head around it
