NEED FEEDBACK Porposition to change the division system
The amount of divisions in the mod is starting to get ridiculous.

I was thinking of changing it to the one featured in my WARNO mod which would mean :
- Armored, Mechanised and Infantry divisions would be merged into a flexible division
- Sandbox division would stay untouched.



The new flexible division would feature a completly changed deckgrid in this format :
- Every category starts with some 1, 2 and 3 points slots
- Then a 5/6 point slot serves as an unlock slot to specialise in this category
- After this one, the slots return to being 1, 2 or 3

The point of this unlock slot is to force the player into a choice : After unlocking one, do you spend your points unlocking most of the other to get a small but balanced deck or do you spend the on the new cheap slots to have a very specialised deck but lacking in a few areas

ex : You pick a few tanks including the expensive tank one. Do you take the plane unlock slot for 5 pts or do you accept to stay a a few plane cards and instead take 3-4 tank cards for the same price ?


This would break the existing divisions (Except the sandbox ones) but would give greater flexibility in the mod and help the menu readability, loading time and lag


I NEED YOUR FEEDBACK ON THIS as this would be a big shift in the mod and I don't want to break the fun for the players.

Hadn't thought about this type of solution at all. Seems like a very reasonable and elegant way to deal with an otherwise complex problem. Also seems like a simple thing to change, if playtesting reveals any issues.

I'd say: go for it.

I think the idea of flexible division sounds more interesting than old Armored, Mechanised and Infantry divisions.
And keeping Sandbox division untouched sounds very sensible. I think Sandbox division is the most attractive part of your great mod.:steamthumbsup:

so long as the sandbox divisions remain with all the slots being fallible for fun spam games then i think this is a good step to take to streamline the non sandbox deck builder my one concern is how the inf tab looks since two little inf can kill divisions and if it costs two much can hamstring players on other options

Regarding the comments on infantry:
The General makes a good point. Most decks needs about 5 cards of infantry to be functional, so maybe dividing the "unlock" slot into two might be a good idea for that tab. So instead of 6 points and then a 1 point, it costs 3 points and 4 points, then goes down to 1 or 2.

Other tabs can generally do with only a few picks, but infantry does need a certain minimum.

That will be of course balanced so you have at least 4 if not 5 cards of infantry in every deck. For example I was thinking of having for infantery something like this : 1, 1, 2, 2, 3, 5, 1, 1, 2, 3

Oh yeah, that'll work for just about every division.
