The mod author appears to be aware of this issue but has no intention of fixing it. Sucks since it's such an annoying issue, despite being so minor.

please can you explain me how to add the new fixed lua...
-I copy it from GitHub
-then I save it (sh_dynamic_flashlight.lua) in the autorun folder, but nothing changes in the game, the flashlight turn on when i die.

sorry for my bad english! :(

Download the .zip archive from here: https://github.com/FlorianLeChat/Dynamic-Flashlight/archive/refs/heads/dead-switch.zip, grab the "Dynamic-Flashlight-dead-switch" folder and place it in your "addons" folder and this should work. Obviously, you have to unsubscribe from the workshop addon because Garry's Mod will mount the workshop version and not the local version.
