The Clicker Class

Feedback after a Master Mode playthrough
I just finished a solo Master Mode playthrough and figured I'd give my thoughts on this incredible mod. It's a very solid new class with a huge variety of weapons to choose from. As someone who played the heck out of Cookie Clicker, this felt like a really neat homage. I do have some notes though on a few technical and balance issues. Most of these are pretty easy to either overlook in your own playthrough or to fix with some number tweaks, though, so they're not a deal breaker:

• The "Line of Sight" check feels just a wonky as vanilla's, especially aiming downwards. Dunno if that's because you simply used vanilla's hit checking code, or what, but it makes clicking anything around a corner or underneath you when you're half standing on a solid block very inconsistent feeling.

• The Overclock armor set seems a little overpowered. I found myself using it 90% of the time instead of the Precursor or Mice sets with the Rainbow or Lord's Clicker, as that dealt so much more damage. The only reason to use the newer sets is when the Clicker you're using doesn't have a high damage effect, like Spectre, Shroomite, etc. One possible solution is to make it trigger effects every 2 clicks instead of 1, or maybe make it reduce required clicks by a percentage instead, like 75%. (Side note: The Shroomite Clicker has a buggy interaction with the Overclock armor. You may wanna look into that, DivermanSam)

• The Umbral Clicker feels a bit strong for the point of the game you find it. It makes easy work of the Wall of Flesh and any hoard of mobs because of it's multiple homing projectile effect. I beat the Wall of Flesh on Master Mode on my first attempt with it and ended up using it over most of my other early Hardmode clicker options until I got the Arthur. Really any clicker that has homing projectiles should be toned down just a tad. Even without the Overclock armor, the Rainbow clicker was worth so much more than either the Mice or Astral clicker, both of which felt like a letdown comparatively.

• The drop rate of the Ecliptic Clicker is a bit high. It drops at 4% from two Eclipse mobs. Compare that to the 2.5% that the Reaper's Scythe drops from one uncommon mob, my inventory after one Eclipse was like 5 Shells, 4 Moon Stones, and 13 Clickers.

Phew, this is getting a bit longer than I expected, but bare with me. I'm nearly done:

• A nice QoL change to the Aimbot Module would be that if I manually click on a mob, the reticle would change to that one instead. Near the end of the game when my radius started getting pretty large, I kept finding myself having to double press my aimbot button to unlock from a distant target that I'm not worried about and relock onto the fast mob that's now a few block away from me.

• The Clicker Glove sounds like a neat accessory but I never got to use the upgraded versions because the grind to get the Ancient one didn't sound fun in the slightest. Having to get 8 ancient cloth from a Hardmode Underground Desert enemy that only drops one at a time 10% of the time is just not something I wanted to do, even post-Golem. Even now, post-Moon Lord, I don't want to do that.

I didn't play with every Clicker or every accessory, so these notes are kind of incomplete, but they are what I experienced and thought about as I went through my personal playthrough. Overall, this is an extremely entertaining mod that feels very close to Vanilla a lot of the time. Like it has a similar feeling to Yoyos in a way. I will certainly play through this again at some point. Maybe after 1.5 1.4.4 releases?

Thanks for the very thought out and organized review. i am always hesitant to try new class mods because i am afraid it will be just too broken! Will definitely be giving this a try now
