every time i make with notepad++ it still is saved as reqular notepad

For windows 8 go to the .txt right click on it, hit open with, you might find it in the screen that shows up if not choose look for another app on this pc, notepad++ is in program files x86 open the notepad ++ folder choose the program and hit ok, it should be the default now
