If you are struggling to change Chief models.
Just write in the console; infil_model_chief "models/____/____.mdl". You can see what to type there from Player Models tab. If there is streched models and ERROR show up below helicopter simply just do this; Disable 'GMod Legs 3' and install 'No Errors' addon.

after typing in the playermodel for the console the guy who deploys the rope doesn't show up and when i rappel down i see stretched out skin from my pm on the ground a few metres away from the chopper plus an error sign below the chopper.

Just type "infil_model_chief" then you can put the root to any player model you have installed for example "infil_model_chief models/player/kleiner.mdl" would change the default dude to kleiner or another example "infil_model_chief models/player/billy_herrington" will change him to Billy Herrington and so on.

Just in case anyone has issues, Go to spawnlist, type the PM name for the model you want to use, right-click on the model and copy to clipboard, then type in console "infil_model_chief" and then paste from clipboard.

Gm legs 3 causes this, i just uninstalled it
