Performance Megathread
Please report your performance here.
Provide the following:
  • Your hardware including CPU, GPU, and RAM.
  • Your average framerate during physics operations.
  • Your worst frametimes.
  • What you were doing during the performance loss.
  • The map you were playing on.
  • The tools you were using.
  • Any mods that may alter destruction physics.
Typical performance metrics to report:
  • Good framerates when an update was posted and you've benefited from this.
  • Poor framerates when you are doing simple actions, such as exploding a single pipebomb.
  • Poor framerates when you are doing intensive actions, such as huge chain explosions.

i have a rtx 2070, ryzen 3600 running at 4ghz and 32gb of ddr4 ram running at 3600MHz and just doing any destruction with the missile launcher on any of the sandbox maps freezes the game for seconds at a time, i am running with default settings with the mod

Does it improve your performance if you set the Grounded Weight Reduction to max?

ill check

its hard to tell but it might make the overall framerate higher but the game still freezes for about 3 seconds every time i shoot the missile launcher at a large building

Try setting the Process Distance to 10, Grounded Search Distance to 1, and Max Particles to 0, does that help?

oh wow that completely fixes it :cozybethesda:

also i just tried the default settings again and i think whatever you did to update the mod fixed all the game freezing

Glad the update I made resolved it, thanks for the info!

I think this mod causes objects to float when the base is destroyed by laser (non-explosive) weapons.

Also when breaking large objects (eg the lighthouse on hollowrock) instead of getting a consistent FPS drop it feels more like stuttering - where the game freezes then goes back to average fps then freezes etc. Was wondering if there was a way to make the FPS universally drop, just because stuttering is quite jarring compared to just having lower fps.

Fire in particular also leaves a lot of structures floating.

Other than that this mod is lots of fun! Glad to see someone is innovating on the original structural integrity mod.

Edit: 16gb ram, 7700k, 1070

i7 10870H
GTX 1660TI
16gb ram

With this mod active it stutters ALOT

FPS is fine but it freezes for 2-4 seconds at a time when firing the rocket launcher

Give it a try now, I may have optimized the engines wrapper speed through tables.

there seems to be way less stuttering with the new update :cozybethesda:

Yep new update fixed most of the stuttering

When structures crumble the game deletes a large portion of the smaller bits of rubble. I get that this is for performance reasons but I feel like there should be an option to not delete rubble for those of us who don't mind having a lower fps.

This is just the game, not my system, but I can try to reduce this by locking debris
