- Add alpha variant of Twilight Phoenix.
- Phoenix footsteps are very loud. Something like the Argentavis would be good.
- While riding the Bright Crystal Wyvern in first person, a crystal covers about half my screen.
- Add "rocket- mode" from original Phoenix (the one where you hold Space to fly super fast).
- While riding the Shadow Wyvern my GF often gets killed by using fire or electric attacks. Not sure if this is a bug or not. It happens from using the poison attack too, but that is normal I think.
- Time for a baby Phoenix to grow up is much much higher than any other dino we had. Maybe add ini option?
- It would be helpful to see on screen/hud how long the Phoenix special attacks have left of the cooldown.
- While riding the Crimson Phoenix the heatwave/shimmer effect is too disorienting. If it could be toggled with a key in- game that would be great. Or add as an ini option.
- The tail crystals on the Bright Crystal Wyvern are huge. It looks a little out of place on a long and sleek tail. Now it looks like it would be used for smashing with a tail strike, which would be cool actually.
- ini option for leveling speed.
- Small variation of dino and aura color.
- Attacker take elemental damage from attacking phoenix (fire, frost or electric according to Phoenix type).
- Phoenix gender/breeding.
- When tamed Phoenix dies it leaves ashes (for some time) you can take to "hatch" a new Phoenix baby.
- Make Twilight Phoenix accept saddle like Crimson and Tundra can.
- Make wild Crimson and Tundra Phoenix fight back when attacked. Currently they flee.
Keep up the good work!By the moment Twilight Phoenix will not recieve updates yet, as it is in alpha version yet, there are more cool stuff to Twilight Phoenix coming, but to maintain balance saddle for this guy won't be a thing.
I'm studying some ways to make option in Radial Menu to on/off the effects and special abilities together, like how Magmasaur Smelting works. It will be turned off by default, and will be turned on if activated in Radial Menu, it will also consume Food at a higher rate. As for the steps I'll see if I can make it a bit less loud (even through I already use Argentavis step sounds, as Phoenix doesn't have it).
For breeding, well all the Phoenix are genderless, but are breedable. They work like Maewing, and this feature I don't plan to change too. Twilight Phoenix is only breedable while in Lunar/Space biomes in Gen1 and Gen2. The Ash system was a bit buggy while tamed, and saw many people using this exploits to duplicate Phoenix for free, so I removed it, and I don't plan to readd it to tamed anymore too. Phoenix babies (except Twilight Phoenix) have the same growth rate as Gigas because, well, they are stronger than Gigas, can fly and has abilities to refine resources (Crimson) and preserve any type of item in 100 times (Tundra). As for Twilight baby has a really long growth time, but using it will show why it is needed to be this way. A Diving Phoenix, with a attack strong enough to take down a High Level Gigas in some hits, its peck attack infling a extremelly powerfull debuff that at the same time apply a large pool of torpor, decrease it victim hp and prevent it from walking. Its inventory will convert Organic Polymer and Corrupted Nodule into Polymer, Squiid Oil into Oil and prepare Jerkies at a really high rate. And its poop are Organic Mutatel and Mutagen. I hope this tell why Twilight Phoenix is already balanced without saddle and having all its limitations to raise a new one.
The Phoenix (all 3) should've fight back using the same patterns as Crystal Wyverns, I'll see that to next update.
I'll fix Bright Crystal FPV in next update too. Its tail is like this because I pretend to add an attack with it later (when I learn how to create animations in Blender), so it will share the 3rd slot attack (Claw at ground, Tail spikes at air). Shadow Wyvern follow the vanilla Wyverns standard, it can hurt allied too, including its rider if at range.
All flying creature in my mod already have the ability to level speed and gain speed bonus at imprint, as for the Rocket mode I removed because (at least to me) they didn't fit these new Phoenix and won't add it back, instead added the special attack, and yeap I plan to add a Cooldown display meter for the special in future updates. All 3 Phoenix apply a buff while hurt to the attacker, Burn for Crimson, Freeze for Tundra and Electrocuted for Twilight. Burn inflinct DoT at higher rate than vanilla Phoenix, Freeze slow down at nearly no speed, and Electrocuted apply torpor in bulky, inflinct DoT at alarming rates and paralise the target.
As for the small color and variation, what do you mean by that? Chibis?
What I meant to say is it would be nice if the Phoenixes would have small variations in color and color of the aura around them.
For example, the Tundra Phoenix would still be white/blue, but can spawn with small differences in tint like a little darker blue or something.
Just so they won't all be exactly identical to each other. Each type of Phoenix would still be its main colors and easy to distinguish.
I like they can be leveled in the speed- stat, but I think an ini option would be good for those who prefer it disabled.
Not important to me personally though, just writing down ideas since it might help :)
Could the Phoenix "rocket- mode" perhaps be disabled by default, but be toggle able in ini?
We have not had much time with it yet, but so far we love the mod.
Nice work!
Ah, the Phoenix (except Twilight) already have colorization, but they use a unique pattern in wild spawn, to get new colorizations you have 2 ways to do this (killing an Alpha Phoenix will spawn a non-Alpha Phoenix Ashes from this same species with 20 Mutation already, which means they will already be born with different colors, or breeding and mutating them).
The flying speed toggle option I can add, but for the moment, as the mod is in development yet, I'll stick without this now.
The Rocket Mode I won't add back, we can say they are unique to vanilla Phoenix (or its Special).
Twilight Phoenix colorization is on the way, but only his horns? and eyes will change colors, as their textures are made using a different (and unusual) method. Putting common colorization system in it could break the shinning eyes and horns(?).
Enable effects option could be saved after you use a Cryopod/Soul Ball. Currently you have to enable them again after un-cryo, possibly after restarts too.
In my opinion, the Twilight Phoenix drains too much stamina using Black Arrow. This is supposedly a travel ability mainly, but even with 4k stam, it goes down too fast. I suggest lowering stamina drain from that ability to not sacrifice at least half levels to stamina for it to be viable.
I'll see if some are possible, but the Black Arrow stamina drain will continue as it is, even through it is based to travel, is also inflint huge DoT damage when fly near other dinos.
Abyssal Magmasaur- An aquatic, deep sea variant magmasaur with a niche as a powerful underwater harvester ranking above the dunkle. It could be a tranq tame found in deep abyssal trenches and areas with underwater resources/lava, like some of the spots on fjordur and ragnarok. It could also spawn in ocean areas on genesis.
Instead of a lava plume attack, it could use a similar oil powered explosive breath that causes a different type of DoT. It would probably also do well with much better swim speed.
Thank you for the work that you put into the mod!
I'll think about that.
Thanks for the consideration!
