Was unable to pick an ascension because it requires less than 8 traditions picked, but I bypassed it with a console command. It seems to be related to a conflict between the mod and Planetary Diversity. There's a compatibility patch by the mod author, but if you want to just use the console, the commands are below along with a link to the patch.
