Suggestions
Nice terrain but from my point of view it has some weaknesses, so here some suggestions how to improve it.

1.) The islands basically look the same everywhere beside the small changes in height. A bit more diversity would be good to be more interesting.

For example have certain trees be more prominent in some areas then in others. Have different desnity of trees in different areas. Have more bushes in some areas then in others etc.

2.) Add an area with burned trees for example because of a lightning strike or maybe of a asteorid impact, which would also allow to create a area with more fallen trees and rocks.

3.) Have a area of forest that is a bit under water.

4.) Have some small places of water in the forest maybe some ponds from last rain etc.

5.) There are many areas that are pretty flat, more microterrain would help to create a more realitic impression. Smaller changes in terrain height of 20-50 cm can help alot to make the landscape look more natural.

Thank you for suggestions! I will try some of it, but for now i just want to forget about Bulldozer existence.

I know what you mean. Tried to install it once and run into all kinds of issues, so soon my reaction was just "Nope, thats not for me."

I noticed that you used buildings from CUP that also exists as Livonia buildings in Arma. The Livonia buildings are superior as they are enterable.

So it would be nice if you could switch to the Livonia buildings in the future.

I don't have Livonia DLC. I use Interiors Mod for CUP buildings instead.

Unless i'm mistaken you don't need Livonia DLC (Contact) as Livonia buildings came with the base game platform update, so all players have access to them.

You don't need Contact DLC to make use of Livonia buildings. The new buildings/assets that are used on the Livonia terrain were added to the standard Arma3 plattform.

Only for the Livonia terrain itself (and some other things line) you need the Contact DLC.

See for example https://community.bistudio.com/wiki/Arma_3_Contact, at the end of the page it lists buildings etc. as free and it was stated this way by BI also on other places during release of Contact DLC.

Larger docks at the other islands, and potentially remove the crashed C130

Because of the nature of the terrain it fits in well for more low tech missions. However to make use of all islands it basically requires boats, which might be too high tech for that low tech purposes.

So it might be interesting to actually connect all islands through shallow waters, maybe ca. 1m deep. This should also be deep enough for boats to cross the water without problems.

These walkable underwater connections could also be relative sparse and small, so players would have to search the right places in the waters where its shallow enough to walk, if they do not want to swim to the next island.

If possible it would be good to remove the dependency to CUP Terrains Maps.

I started the terrain with only CUP Terrains Core activated and judging from the error messages the dependencies to CUP Terrains Maps seem to be just clutter and other configs. A over 3 GB dependency just for some clutter and configs seems a bit much.

You might even find the same clutter you use from CUP Terrains Maps also under a slightly different name in CUP Terrains Core. This is for example already the case for some buildings, but they keep the old versions for backward compatibility.

@Ron4Swat map uses Chernarus config as parent, in future i probably switch parent config to Livonia.
Ron4Swat 1 Oct, 2021 @ 12:21pm
If its just for the config you might also look into CUP Terrains Maps 2.0. It contains the new Chernarus 2020 terrain and is just around 500 MB, its only dependency is to CUP Terrains Core.

The inherited configs should be pretty similiar to the old Chernarus.

Might be a good alternative in case Livonia as parent world does not fit your needs.

@Ron4Swat thanks for suggestion, i wil try both next week!

The density of the forests after todays update seem to me to be too strong, especially in combination with the trees which reach down to the ground.

Visibility seems to be just around 10-20m in the forests. In combination with AIs ability to see through these kind of obstructions pretty well, there is pretty much nothing interesting to do when marching through forests, it seems all luck now.

Previous versions had a pretty good forest density.

@Ron4Swat Well, i will change forest density. For now i need to fix rocks, some have broken collisions.
