Kill Doctor Lucky

I played this with 5 people total, and it was the first time any of us had played the game, and for the most we have never played Clue.

The game is easy enough to pick up once you get through the rules.
In short: Doctor Lucky moves around the house in a pattern, and everyone else wants to be in the same room as him, with no line of sight to any other players. At this point you can play weapons to bolster your attack, and the other players play "failure" cards.

Example: You use "Tight Hat" (+2), and then the players go around dealing "Failure" cards, each with a point value of 1, 2, or 3. If they match your killing value, the murder attempt fails. For your attempt you get a +1 permanent attack bonus, so it pays to try to murder often.

The entire game comes to a close when someone kills Doctor Lucky, and unfortunately this is why I felt the game was fun, but a little shallow.

The crux of the game seems to come in getting your opponents to lay out all their one-time-use Failure cards first, so when you go for your next murder, it will succeed. In practice this feels a lot like Munchkin when you've got a few players on the precipice of reaching level 10; everyone wants to pile on the Failure cards, but at the same time everyone is holding off until the NEXT player's attempt.

So while it's billed as an inverse of Clue, this game feels more of a long-winded game about bluffing your hand. For example: when it comes time to play your Failure cards, you can just chose to "pass", and make the other players at the table stop the murder, thus setting up the appearance that you have no Failure cards yourself.

It was worth the playthrough and the official rules seem to have quite the selection of variations - which is nice seeing as the base game itself is a bit complicated for what amounts to a game of bluffs.
