♠Suggestions♠
Think a race is a little too OP? Sure, you can let me know!
Just know that a race with "official" support won't be changed without the author's consent.

Do you want to see any additional changes? Such as more stats added? You can comment those here too!
Note: I am avoiding restrictions such as forcing a diet or playstyle (weapons). Environmental effects MAY or MAY NOT be a thing in the future.

Something for those tight on resources... can you add an option to open the race traits menu using the Quickbar (Now known as Stardust Core) instead of a separate item, for those who use it?

Heya!
This mod should already have Quickbar/Stardust Core support! If you have this mod and one of those mods, the lil' button should show up in the Quickbar area!

Well, then I didn't scroll through the screenshots enough. *pat*

No worries!

My suggestion is to set the Hylotl and Munari swim boost stat from "swimboost" to "om_rtswimboost" in the om_racetraits.statuseffect file and tweak the parameters down to
"movementParameters" : {
"liquidImpedance" : 0.01,
"liquidForce" : 200,
"liquidJumpProfile" : {
"jumpSpeed" : 25.0
}
I think it is a nice sweet spot that moves a lot faster in the water and ascends quickly without the really fast burst upward that the vanilla swimboost has.

That one was made specifically for someone who wanted a very special way of getting around in water for their species, but I'll talk with them and see what they think.:steamthumbsup:

Ah, say no more. I understand that.

If a race has built in stats, it would be nice to have those displayed in this mods style on the character creation screen.

Such as the Slime Race and the Nuu from Maple32.

The slime description to be unified into this mods formatting of the stats description, and the Nuu supposedly have built in stats (as stated in the race suggestion thread), however they're not displayed anywhere.

I believe this mod acting as a way to show races with built in stats in-game without going to the mod page would be a great quality of life tweak.

I just now saw that someone suggested the same thing related to the Nuu in the modded race suggestion thread, oops lol.

The slime race isn't a big issue, but formatting unification would be nice. I also remembered the race stats item in-game. Having the stats displayed in there would also be great :vlambeerFish:

So, the way this mod works, I can't display other mod's stats in the Race Traits Helper item or interface.
I can display them on the character creator, but that's about it. I might show their stats on the CC but say that the stats are from the main mod.

Ooh, we can't realistically do that with the limitations of Starbound right now... Also, unfortunately, even if we could, that's not something we want for the mod.

When you say you want to avoid forcing a certain diet or playstyle, is that in reference to Frackin Races' diet system and weapon type bonuses?

Yes.
Nothing against the FU/FR devs but, respectfully, I don't really care for that type of stuff. It seems more restricting than fun. Also, I do not want to "copy" them either.

So, I already love the fact that this mod just... exists. It's a lot more dedicated to race adaptations than Frackin' Universe is, mainly since this is what this mod is built for, it's not trying to delve into farming, progression, and other such things like FU is.

However.

Frackin' Universe does still have race attributes for some other races that aren't included in Race Traits, which, from what I'm seeing, are not showing up in the race select screen. Take the Nightar for example. Just one big blank black box. This won't do.

Would it be possible for a patch that would allow Frackin' Universe's attributes to activate if there aren't any modifications? Maybe they're already there and I'm just too ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Lazy™ to try to make a Nightar character to see if the sword prayer would work or not.

It'd be interesting if Race Traits would load first, following Frackin' Universe to make sure any other races possible could have their traits given -- assuming that's possible. I'm not a rad coder.
