Owl's Colonist Bar (dev)
Owl's Colonist Bar vs Colony Groups
I want to know what would be the main differences between these two mods. More specifically in terms of performance and such, and whether or not Owl's Colonist Bar will "catch up". I like Owlchemist's mods, but the Colony Groups mod has been working fine for me and I like the graphics and customizability when it comes to groups.

The two are only comparable to a certain degree. Colony Groups is much more feature rich and if you're in the market for those features, keep on using it, it's a fine mod and I'd recommend it. I used it myself before making my own bar.

If it's *only* the pawn grouping feature you want, this was meant to be a more liteweight alternative. Current implementation of it still has some kinks to work out though.

I like the other features as well, but I noticed that you were kind of going in that direction, so I thought I would just mention it. I am kind of disappointed that you are going towards a lighter weight mod, but I get it, makes sense.

What features were you looking for in particular?

To be incredibly blunt, all of them, I really like having options. But also really like the art style he went with when it came to the color coded mood bar/portraits. At first it was a shock, but I realized that quickly that there is a lot of 'depth' and 'definition' (not sure if I am describing it right) to the color which makes it easier to see and 'read'. I know read is a weird word for this, but that is the best I can put it. To add more if this isn't already too much; I liked the extended option it has for the color coded mood bars (which I think you are going in this direction, not sure though), the only problem I have with it is that you can't add more color options, you are stuck at five.

The feature I think that would be the best to implement from colony groups would be being able to move the position of pawns in the frame. So instead of seeing the whole pawn, you instead see just their face.

This is really the only feature that I'd personally think is missing

That's a pretty cool feature.

Not sure why we'd need a duplicate of Colony Groups, or how that would even be an expectation lol

The collection is "Owl's Optimizers," after all

I'm curious how you failed to understand the nature of this post while simultaneously being rude and disrespectful about it.

the grouping feature would be much better if you don't use the pawn as leader instead you can create the group like in lto colony groups so you get more overview with many pawns

For me, the deciding factor is that CG has the health/rest/food bars besides every colonist.
If this one mod had that, I would immediately switch, as I do not need all the extra functions and overhead of CG.

Absolutely agree. I need performance and the Colony bar is probably a small gain but a gain nonetheless.

Manage Outfits feature in Colony Manager lets me group pawns as melee and ranged, and prevent all ranged pawns wear shieldbelts and prevent melee group wear quiver, ammo belt etc. It would be nice to see something similar in this mod.

Sorry Owl, this thread wasn't meant to be this. I can't delete it unfortunately.
