Weapons Update 2
  • This will be a complete overhaul of the weapons to allow for more variety and customization at the game / server level.
  • The blanket shield penetration model is being reworked to allow for more flexibility.
  • Most weapons will have a Primary and Secondary Stage.
  • The Primary Stage will impact shields and have no shield penetration.
  • The Secondary Stage will have full shield penetration.
  • The default damage distribution will be 50/50.
  • The WeaponCore config file will allow for not only changing the damage distribution but also the damage amounts.
  • This means that the user can lower the weapon damage if they prefer to use light armor rather than Tritanium.
  • In general, torpedoes will be more useful against armor and phasers will be more useful against shields.
  • Phasers colors will matter; red will do less damage to hull and more damage to shields, blue will be the opposite, and orange / green will fall between those.
  • TNG style arrays will feature Type I to Type IV ammo which will mirror the colored phasers in terms of effectiveness.
  • Most, if not all, of the variables mentioned above can be tweaked / changed by the user so you can get (almost) exactly the weapon you want (results may vary, Terms and Conditions Apply).
  • EWAR based weapons such as Disruptor and Polaron Cannon may be changed if needed; the jury's still out on that one.
