How do you change to Vanessa with this mod?
I installed the mod but starting a new file doesn't make her playable, nor is she on the ship to interact with, like other character mods. Is she in the rift token prize pool or something? What am I missing here?

She should be in the playable character menu in the pause menu

you need a mod called the "Player select menu" that lets you change characters
