Suggestions for genetics/gene splicers
Hey there sailors, this is just a small discussion for people who are wanting to see something specific in the mod when it comes to genetics or gene splicers.

Currently I'm planning on starting work for legacy genes, if that pans out then great but I'd also love to hear what kinds of things you guys would prefer to see added.

If I may ask, why did you decide to make watcher genes give an emp? Was black Moloch not available for that? (if black Moloch already sued i get it but still why an EMP?)

Well honestly speaking it was because I favored the Watcher's design more so than the black moloch. And the idea for it having an EMP was simply because it's more useful than the watchers gaze as an AOE. Obviously it's subject to change later on as I add more genes but for now it's an EMP ability.

Ah thats fair. I was mainly just wondering the why. I suppose the new watcher gene will be better for traitors and pvp matches. I cant wait to see what you add next!

You should add these splicers to the medic talent tree instead of being able to craft them from the get go. They kinda remove any reason to have a medic go down to the advanced splicer.

Well unfortunately the talent system isn't supported very well for modding as of right now and for me the only effective way to add new talents is to create an entirely new job. *which may or may not already be in the works.*

the watcher/gazer should have a type of EMP that not only does EMP dmg but make everyone vomit and cause mass nausia.




Dont know if you can do this but, ever since the gene mod got in. I wondered if I myself could ever become the abomination i always wanted to become.

and by abomination i dont mean, wierd looking mother**ker, but "oh god he needs to die"abomination. Therefore, is it possible to create some type of genes that make a "human" so dam dangerous that security is forced to deal with?

For example. Someone make a super gene of watcher and inserts it to himself. Problem is, everyone is getting nausia and he needs to die.

Things like that were you become so much of a monster, that your power is exhanged for the wishes of your death by your very own crew.

That is certainly possible to do, I'm not really sure what you were going on about with the whole abomination thing. But I can definitely make the explosion give psychosis and nausea.

Thalamus Genes, where you can spit green good that paralyze? (Thalamus because of the green anti-bodies that it uses)

If it's possible, why not to add visual effects to all these genes? Like outgrowths or any different signs of genes, like with mudraptor or watcher's?

It's definitely possible I'll add things like that, for now I am kind of taking a break as I'm busy with IRL stuff lol, but I'll definitely see about adding some new limbs and things to the other genes when I come back.

id like 2 Gene's that gives you Thermal Vision like the Thermal Goggles. and one that gives you Dragon Scales that gives a Strong Defense to all damage but not god levels and Tail and small little wings to be kind of like a Sea Dragon and the sea Dragon lets you swim at all Depth with out it ever crushing you them 2 id really love to have

Hello I just want to inform you I have translated your mod into Chinese and uploaded on workshop as a standalone version, it's my first mod and I don't know it's ok to do so before I ask for permission.

Also, I wonder if you add code to show the description in the health menu or not cuz I tried many ways to make it work but still nothing show up other than the genes names.

You could add a gene that makes you into basically a fish, you grow small scales(barely any damage resistance but there is pressure resistance, like a basic diving suit), fins/flippers (less accurate with guns, but can swim faster but you walk slower like slipsuit), gills(needs water to breathe, so maybe need to add a water tank for diving mask) (Any physical changes could be blue and slightly scaly skin and longer feet and webbed hands)

this sounds like a good idea but it also has good enough detail to be its own mod with like more fish type stuff added too it like more creatures more genes and maybe items
