• Easy access to admin settings via in-game Utilities menu (image[i.gyazo.com], though likely to change a bit before I release it) (Credit to the Wiremod team for the concept)
• Default, Sandbox, and DarkRP presets (with the ability to make your own presets) (image[i.gyazo.com])
• The tool is internally renamed to "stacker_improved" so that it will always load properly even if another stacker tool is on your server. This also changes the cvars to stacker_improved_<stuff> so that other versions don't conflict with it.
Let me know if you'd like to help test the update before I release it to the Workshop!
You can also help by doing a short survey for me about the tool https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/MBNHXSS
If you run a server and you have changed the default server settings for stacker (e.g., stacker_max_count or stacker_force_freeze) and you want to keep them through the next update, PLEASE do the following:
1. Make sure your server is subscribed to Improved Stacker, or that you have the latest GitHub version.
2. Load up your server
2. Ensure your stacker settings are the way you want them (change if needed)
3. Shutdown your server in a CLEAN fashion, i.e. "exit" in the server console. Do not simply close the SRCDS process or force it to exit/crash.
4. Your stacker settings should now be saved somewhere in <yourserver>/garrysmod/garrymod/cfg/server.vdf (VDF, not CFG)
5. You are now ready for the upcoming update (sometime April~May)
These steps are needed because FCVAR_ARCHIVE'd convars won't write to server.vdf unless you cleanly shutdown your server. An alternative method is to just make sure you're written down your settings somewhere and change them when the update comes out.
It might be possible for me to take the burden off of you guys if I store your settings as a json file in /data and just use that when the update comes out. If I get any feedback that the steps above don't work, I'll give it a try.
I've released a public beta version of all the new features and fixes listed above, plus some that aren't.
If you'd like to give it a try, check out this Facepunch thread[facepunch.com] for more info.
You can find the beta version in the GitHub link on that page, along with other info on what's been changed.
Let me know if you have any issues!
