Quick Drives: Using Quick Drives on the Bergen Line
Quick Drives on the Bergen line are designed to be an aide to explore the route and to spark ideas for scenarios. The 2 types are Point to Point and switching. The Bergen Line has both commuter line and through freight traffic. In addition, there are numerous customer sidings to service. The quick drive is fully populated with static cars and locomotives. In the case of the yards, freight traffic was placed as they were observed through satellite imagery. . Note the (VIA) designation is a waypoint designed to guide your train through the interlocking. Your destination(s) is the one marked with out the (VIA)

Below is a list of the currently available Quick Drives (QDs) what they are for and how to use them. For best performance of the route, using the 64bit version of TS is advised.

List of QD's now up to date post finalization of the route.

For the uninitiated to do a quick drive: From the main TS screen, Click Drive, then, on the left pane, choose a loco and below that chose THIS route. To the right of the loco pane you can chose a custom consist that you may create on your own. And below and to the right of the route pane, click that to chose your Depart and Destination points.

Eastbound Freight
All freight runs are proceeded by the letter (F) for freight and a number. The lower the number the further East you are. Note that F6. Mill Rift, PA only goes 5 miles to the Division Point at Port Jervis. Note while there is no switching generally, you could grab cars at Campbell Hall and take them to the Walden or Maybrook branch lines. This is possible because of the manual switches.

Westbound Freight
All freight runs are proceeded by the letter (F) for freight and a number. The Higher the number the further West you are. At Croxton yard there is opportunity for some switching via "Merchants Lead" which is just North of the yard, and is accessible from manual switches.

Hello and thank you for making this awesome route. I downloaded it yesterday after driving up Rt 17 yesterday from Suffern, so cool to see places you just driven past in TS2019!! I am a newbie when it comes to workshop routes. How to I use these "Quick Drives"?? I've downloaded all of the prerequisites and additional content (costly but I hope it will be worth it!!). Thanks and I appoligize in advance for my ignorance..

danielt - when you see how it works, you will wonder why you didn't figure it out in the first place.
QDs are different as they are not Scenarios
First Go to DRIVE. Then Click the QUICK DRIVE tab, Select the Route "New York Division Bergen Line (The 2nd box under the loco box). To the right select your departure point. Most are labeled "fright" "local" 'use light engine' the rest are passenger. Then you click your destination. (VIA) means a waypoint, (DEST) is short for Destination) Use the 9 key for the map to check if you need to switch before your start, and check again at your destination. In QDs you can control any manual switch. Last, is to select your train, many trains already have consists already. If you want to build your own click custom and assemble the train. Last is to select the season, weather and time of day. With all of this done. you can click the start button. As this is the Bergen and has lots of assets, it can take 4 minutes to load before you get rolling. So my route takes some patience, but its worth it.

Do post to tell me how you made out, your impressions and all that good stuff. I love feedback, but I love the new guys most of all, because the first run can be pretty awesome!

Hey just a heads up, I think the QD that starts out of Port Jervis to Hoboken is buggy. I couldn't get it to load with any combination of rolling stock, but I was able to get a QD out of Otisville to load up just fine.
