Full guide to Shared Effort
Guide to Shared Effort

As this map contains some 'seperate puzzle chains' I cant offer a step by step guide. Try to figure out at what door you are stuck on and look for the solution below. You will start in room Red 1 / Blue 1 respectively. I will list the main mechanism (last puzzle part) first that will open the respective door. Following the whole puzzle chain starting at the first step of the puzzle.

If you like this map you can also check out Shared Effort2 which is based on the same concept but longer and harder. If Shared Effort was challenging, i do not recommend playing the second map, it’s intended for people who felt like the first one was too easy :)

Opening door to Red 2
Main mechanism:solve the colour puzzle in Blue 1
Solution: fill in the colour pieces to create a gradient

Opening door to Blue 2
Main mechanism:solve the math sequence on the table in Red 1
Hint:You need information from the blue side. The blue side has the same kind of golden balls.
Solution:1 - 3 - 6 - 10 - 15 - 21, 3 - 5 - 8 - 13 - 21 - 34

Opening door to Blue 3
Main mechanism:solve the dice puzzle in Blue 2
Hint:You need information from the red side.
Solution:2 - 5 - 1 - 3

Opening door to Blue 4
Main mechanism:solve the domino puzzle in Red 2
Hint:Hint is above the window
Solution:turn the dominos so the left number is smaller than the right number

Opening door to Red 3
Main mechanism:solve the sudoku puzzle in Blue 4
Hint:you need to solve the red ball puzzle in Red 1 to get the missing piece the guide to solving the red ball puzzle is in Blue 4
Solution:red ball puzzle: top row red - gold - gold, middle row all red, bottom row gold - red - gold. sudoku (left to right / top to bottom) 3 - 4 - 1 - 1 - 3 - 2 - 4 - 4 - 1 - 2

Opening door to Blue 5
Main mechanism:solve the colour puzzle in Red 3
Hint:the missing colour pieces are on the blue side
Solution:fill in the colour pieces to create a gradient

Opening door to Red 4
Main mechanism:solve the card puzzle in Blue 5
Hint:always 2 card belong together. Look at the given examples. The missing card is on the red side
Solution:right card is 1 lower than the left card. Always 2 colours belong together: heart & spades, diamond & club spades jack - club queen - diamond 10 - heart 8

Opening door to Red 5
Main mechanism:solve the math puzzle in Red 4
Hint:you need to open the cupboard with the mirror on it by aiming at it with a light source
Solution:solve the blue ball puzzle in Blue 2 by the information you got in Red 5: top row gold - gold - blue, middle row gold - blue - gold, bottom row blue - gold - blue. This gives you a key to open the wall panel in Blue 4. Turn around the mirrors hanging down from the ceiling to aim at the cupboard. math puzzle: 9 - 3 - 5 - 7 - 6

Opening door to Blue 6
Main mechanism:battleship puzzle in Blue 5
Hint:1 missing blue piece is in the chest on the table in Blue 3, another one is in the cupboard with the combination lock in Blue 4. The code for this is on the red side the info on where to put the pieces can be found in the locked wall panels, the vynil puzzle and the eye box puzzle
Solution:code for the combination lock is above the window in Red 3: 2 -2 -7 chest with combination lock in Red 2, code can be seen from other side of the wall: 5 - 9 -6. open panel below table with that key. one panel is in Red 1 behind the plant, key for this is in Blue 5 on the card rack. code for the eye box: 1 - 8 - 2 - 3 put the green vynil on the vynil player to open the last panel all notes: D7, E4, H2, I5

Opening door to Red 6
Main mechanism:solve the chess puzzle in Blue 1
Hint:the hint for this is behind a wooden panel in Red 3, find a hidden button to activate it in Blue 3.
Solution:press the lamp button in Blue 3 to show the panel white king - black knight - black tower - white queen

Activating red exit door
Solution:Aim the light source at the door

Activating the blue exit door
Main mechanism:solve the board game in Red 6
Hint:the missing colour pieces are on the blue side. For this you need to 1) activate the second light source in Blue 6 and 2) gather the 2 figurines.
Solution: 1) put the remaining 2 red pieces into the box on the wall in Blue 6. 1 piece is in the box on the table solved by the domino puzzle(left number smaller than right number), one is in the card combination lock in Red 1. solution to card lock: 4 - 7 - 2 - 8. Aim the new light source at the mirror in Red 1solve the math equation in Red 6 behind the wooden board with a combination lock: 120 and 2) blue figurine: solve the math equation in Blue 6 behind the wooden board with a combination lock: 117. red figurine: solve the labyrinth in Red 5. enter the code in the combination lock in blue 3. if you dont see the lock, activate the lamp button in Red 2. Place figurines on board accordingly and the door will activate.

EXIT
Solution:stand on both pressure plates at the same time. In Singleplayer a button will activate when both sides are finished.

math equation at the end is buns how tf are u supposed to do that :steamsad:
LuNar 12 Dec, 2021 @ 4:36am
still confused on the 8-digit code part
Grrr  [developer] 12 Dec, 2021 @ 4:50am
@TWISTED NICK it's a mix between math and a sequel. For full solution explained board in blue half: 1+4=5 (1*4+1=5), 2+5=12 (2*5+2=12), 3+6=21 (3*6+3=21), 9+12 (9*12+9) = 117

For full solution explained board in red half: 1+4=8 (1*4+4=8 or 2*4=8), 2+5=15 (2*5+5=15 or 3*5=15), 3+6=24 (3*6+6=24 or 4*6=24), 9+12 (9*12+12 or 10*12) = 120

@LuNar you find the lock for the 8 digit code in Blue 3 by pressing a lamp button in Red 2. The solution for the code you get by solving the labyrinth puzzle from green to red. this puzzle is in the fifth red room you get access to.

Hey so just finished the map. Took us a lot longer than im assuming it would have. It was a ton of fun but a few issues. So, glitching through the walls is a problem as my partner can just glitch through and struggle to get back onto their side. Also the code on top of the window for the 4th piece was incorrect for us. We thought it was bugged and restarted and nope. So she thought why not guess the code through all the numbers and each digit to the box was off by one compared to the one on the window. which really frustrated us for a while haha. I dont know much about map dev as im just a player but maybe it was a client issue I dont know but do take a look at it as it will make the map impossible to complete. Great map never the less.

if you just do the math and ad the previous answers instead of multiplying you get the same results accept for the final answer (1+4)=5, (2+5)=7 then add the previous 5 to get 12 and then if you do (3+6)=9 then add the previous 12 its 21 so the math can seem like its supposed to be done a different way and it screwed us up completely and we had to look at the guide and even after that the door to the end literally would not open for some reason even though we followed the guide exactly as it was stated

When I do the math sequence to open blue 2, the drawer opens, but blue 2 does not open for my partner.
Grrr  [developer] 14 Jan, 2022 @ 2:34am
@Jamo the drawer opens from one of them, for the room you need both

Interesting! See for this puzzle we ended up adding the next 2 numbers to the previous sum.
i.e 8+1+5=15, 15+3+6=24, then working out the sequence till 99+9+12=120
