RimWorld

Performance Optimizer
Stop disabling the UI by default
It makes many users uninstall this mod because they believe that this mod disables the UI for performance. I have seen many complain about this and I had to tell them to reinstall this mod and re-enable the option. Please make hiding the UI instead an opt-in feature if you want as a pop-up or something within the mod options.

not everyone reads trough the massive wall of texts, its the same as people not reading an entire terms of service block

if people are expecting performance mods, then they should'a read the features instead of outright subscribing it without knowing what it does

It certainly wouldn't hurt, but... it's not a modder's job to fix stupidity.

Except that it's not. Do you buy something without knowing what it does? Do you just wander into a store, pick something without bothering to know what it does and then get mad when it does something you didn't expect?

This is free. People accept free ♥♥♥♥ all the time without reading the fine print.

That said; READ THE FINE PRINT PEOPLE! :)

If people too dumb to read what a mod does before installing, they deserve to be frustrated. Participation trophy mfers, rewards for those who manage .1% effort.
i did read the description, but i must of not seen it after reading it twice with a bit of not really caring, it definetly made me think everything went haywire when it was activated though, eitherway, why would you disable the ui ANYWAY, you cant do ♥♥♥♥ without it

"- Several UI elements will be hidden until you hover on them" its still active just invisible as per the first line in the features

I won't get quite as emotional about it as the OP, but I also agree that choosing to hide the bottom bar by default when not moused over feels like a bad decision.

Unfortunately the wider audience of users that play Rimworld and download mods includes people that do not pay much attention to the description of the mods they add.
Also, some people don't even get to know what mod is causing the changes they see, like if they're using a mod pack that was set up for them by someone else for example.

I don't know about everyone else but when I start delving into mods for various games I end up with 10 - 20 of them that sounded neat. I usually don't go to each mod page to check the nuances of changes it makes. It might be days later until I fire up the game and have forgotten this mod needs X changed. This other mod needs attention to Y. If it makes more sense for a feature to be off by default then turn it off instead of blaming people for not reading.

No people really should know what they install
Many people seek ts help and have absolutely 0 idea the names of the mods they use
