Bring something with tentacles... how about some giant devilfish? I think that will probably make this game more like Cthulhu mythology.

Mantis shrimp/Europan Lobsters.

A range of sizes and survivabilities, the general idea would be to add an enemy that crawls along the surfaces of the europan ocean, gathering up detachables and hoarding "shinies" in the first cave it finds.

Maybe going a bit wild here but, something that tries to break the hull open and grab/drag crewmen out of the ship. (with giant tentacles/tongue ?)

squid
Something that grabs and immobilises the sub would be nice, kinda like the thalamus spike but a standalone creature

This may be difficult to implement and I have no idea as I have no experience in modding Barotrauma whatsoever but maybe you could give the Deadnought like an ability to shoot guns, not sure how that would be balanced but since it is a living submarine after all it would be fitting as Thalamus wrecks also fire back at you with their available guns.

NO TORPEDOs, thank you. I'm currently playing barotraumatic by myself and I really don't want to experience losing a dozen sailors again. Please do not do that

I'd love to see something that ACTUALLY fights back. Imagine like a hostile, husked submarine that actually uses coilguns and railguns against you. Or maybe even missions where a husked submarine was spotted and you have to destroy the reactor. Missions that *force* you out of your submarine/comfort zone, or at least encounters that force you to fight back outside of the submarine.

Well instead of torpedos for the deadnought, I could try adding projectie attacks from coilguns/railguns then?

Well, thing is that, while having cool monsters in the abyss, there really.. isn't a big reason to get into the abyss in the first place.

So placing down monsters into the abyss is rather inefficient cause most won't even really encounter them.

The concept of the Deadnought with torpedoes is good already. But creating another "thalamus submarine" that is actually alive (like a pirate ship) and filled with Husks would be a good addition.

The fight would/should be hard and if you succeed in taking it down, you might find some calyx eggs that you can sell for a handful of marks.
