Solid vanilla fun in Siberia. 4/5 stars.

North Chaos is a hidden gem. I'm surprised it flew under the radar considering its quality, but I'm guessing that's because it was originally posted online in 2021 as a two-map beta and it wasn't actually finished until 2024.

Despite taking place in the Siberian taiga, this campaign feels very vanilla. Aesthetics are detailed, locations are distinct, the pacing is rock solid, and it even has the Survivors talking as they go. The most unique idea here is having multiple paths to take in each level, but thankfully there's always signage telling you where to go so you don't get lost.

A lot of effort was put into making this mod feel official, but I think the finale is a step down from everything else. There are too many cars that Tanks can use to instakill you, especially near the rescue vehicle. I also got a little tired of all the mud and dull colors, though that's admittedly realistic for a taiga rainstorm.

Regardless, this mod is still recommended.
