gonna just doublepost it here cuz of "ideas" in name of thread..
Is it possible to add some utility feature to helmets in future, like able to put a working thermal googles in some kind of special slot, medscanner, or just combine them into one at crafting table- so you still need related talent for them to craft?

In fact, you can try to add a slot for special equipment. the question is how it will behave inside the container

Was kinda hoping for you, as developer of this mod to include it into next update, so i dont have to do a thing... Especially since i dont know a thing about modding here aaand probably dont wanna try. But hey - thats some (weird) way to appretiate your work as modder! )
And there is always a "easier" way - to just made new item from two helmets that will effectively replace them both- i mean thermal googles with stats of helmet and different sprite..

Though modular helmets will be really cool thing to try out... And modular armor probably too.. Just kinda love all modular stuff...
Maybe even more than one slot for modules? Like working beacon inside aside from googles, maybe different kind of enemies radar for those who cant be spotted by thermal optics-like electromagnetic...googles for guardiand of ruins, maybe even some sort of nightvision for caveexploring, or bigger and better flashlight... or even spotlight, huh?!) With slot for battery ofc...

I implemented the work of a health scanner or a thermal imager inside the helmet. The rest is to check if everything works well. I will release an update in the coming days.

I updated the version and made changes regarding helmets and head items. Now the health scanner and thermal imager work as they should. You just have to check the work and tell the result

Works just fine as far as i can tell, with slight delay before activation after you put scanner/thermals in slot. Great work) Thank you.
Even work with other mod for thermals with headphone slot- with i wrongly assumed can be a problem.

Yes, there is a delay so as not to break the algorithm for checking the availability of the necessary device for work. As for mods and changed items, there may be problems. If you write, we will try to solve

The new update is dope,especially ballistic helmet with ear and face protection(that one helmet looks just like Fuze wore),but tactical vest with pouches seems still not fixed?
