Stereo L4D1-Style Autoshotgun Sound
question about stereo sound & this mod
i've profound hearing loss, so please bear with me.

how does stereo sound work in a 3d space? i can see stereo being used for music because music doesn't come from a source in a 3d space in the game, but stereo for positional sounds? isn't the point of stereo to give an illusion of 3d sound without the help of a 3d environment?

i've watched the video, and i struggle to find any differences in sound. anyone mind giving me a quick explanation of the differences?

A stereo sound in a 3D positional environment is simply made quieter the farther away it is from you, and panned to one speaker or the other based on where you are in relation to its source.

If Bill is firing his autoshotgun to my right, I'll only hear the right channel in my right ear.
If Bill is firing his autoshotgun in front of me, I'll hear both channels on their respective side.
If Bill is firing his autoshotgun to my left, I'll only hear the left channel in my left ear.
